Hello,

I just download and followed the instructions and VLC detects the plugin, but I can't download any subtitles.
Here is the output from VLC debuging (Ctrl+M):
When click "Search by hash:
(It finds me subtitles)
---------------------------
main debug: net: connecting to api.opensubtitles.org port 80
main debug: connection succeeded (socket = 28)
main debug: net: connecting to api.opensubtitles.org port 80
main debug: connection succeeded (socket = 28)

When I click "Download selection"
---------------------------------
main debug: net: connecting to dl.opensubtitles.org port 80
main debug: connection succeeded (socket = 26)
lua warning: Error while running script /home/user/.local/share/vlc/lua/extensions/vlsub.lua, function (null)(): ...user/.local/share/vlc/lua/extensions/vlsub.lua:967: /home/user/.cache/vlc/subtitle.srt.gz: No such file or directory

Why this is happening?
I remember usining this plugin a couple of months ago and it worked perfect!
Thank you.

Could you open the console (with Ctrl+M) and try to dowload it again then check for a 'lua error' in the console output?

I didn't test it on Gentoo, maybe there's something specific. Please send me your debug log as explained here ("If the extension isn't recognized"):

Thanks
It seems you're Vlc is compiled (or run maybe) with '--disable-lua' option and it is an lua extension.

Hi, I've solved the problem.

For those who have the same problem just edit make.conf on /etc/portage/ and add the USE = "lua"

Thank you!

It does work, you just need to download it again and copy to the correct folder.
