Description:

The main points of this style is transparency and flexibillity. It is a good way to see the new arthur painting framework in QT4 in action. The style can be configured in a number of ways and colours in the boundled controll center.

The style is very slow with unaccelrated XAA Xrender. For more info about that see comments.

Check the homepage for info more info & screenshots.

Feel free to make constructive comments, especially on what that could make the style better.

PS! This style is not for KDE 4 directy, but for Qt 4 which KDE 4 will be based on.

Progress (2006-02-06)
Features in work:
* Configuration gradient editor (made from scratch) for customizeable gradients.
* Qt 4.0.x is not supported anymore, use Qt 4.1.0 or better.
* Editable comboboxes and spinboxes has a new layout
* Group boxes/frames etc. has a partly transparent background, which is combined when multiple boxes are nested.
* Some gradient colour editing options.
* Button corner size option
* Small fixes to the codebase done in the last 4 months.

Qlouds v 0.0.0.6a "Glossy tint" released:(2005-08-24)
New features:
* Glossy widget gradient, which also makes the buttons more round, and gives the border colour an alpha of 110 .
Thanks to Zammi for the idea, and Tomasu which created the mocup which it is based on.

PS! Because this is a minor release please download it (and the screenshot) from the website.

Qlouds version 0.0.6 "Animation madness" released:
Features:
* Animated widgets. Buttons & scrollbars in KDE4&QT4. Progress bars in QT4 only.
The button fades on keybord focus, and when the mouse is over it. The scrollbar & progressbar gradients is shifted gradually.
* Fuzzy edge drawing (including cosmetic errors, disabled by default).
* Crom gradient mode, for everybody who wants their buttons to look like they have been taken from the last Vista/Tiger screen shots.
* Conservative drawing mode, for those who wants their widgets to look more like Luna/Plastik/Clearlooks.
* The style demo program has been obsoleted by the configuration program, it is removed.
Fixed some small random drawing bugs.

after following the instructions in t he README - file (building the style and the config, copying the libq* - files into /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt...) how do I activate the theme? I cannot find it in the control-center...sorry I´m a newbie to these kind of things...

Thank you!

How to install:
compile the libraries
copy the libraries into
$QTDIR/plugins/styles/
run: $QTDIR/bin/qtconfig
select qlouds

In your case $QTDIR (for your qt4 installation) seems to be "/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.0.0/".

It is okay to be a newbie, everybody have been it.

I am using Gentoo, and not suse, but i have searched the internet and found:
ftp://ftp.novell.co.jp/pub/suse/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.3/development
I don't know if the qt package is usable, but it may be worth a try.

1st off: i assume the window is translucent and you see a WP shining through I hope you're running some compmgr, or does qt utilize it's own COMPOSITE access (i'm asking as xaa composite fails on multiple access, i.e. you won't be able to run a external compmgr for shadows and non qt4 apps and i still don't see kaa being used too much)

1:The 3rd screenshot is captured using "kompmgr" on the experimental Kdrive Xserver which means (KAA). Kompmgr & the style seems to work with XAA drivers on a standard X.org server too, at least on cvs. I don't know about EXA since i have not foud any usable drivers usable on my (NVIDIA) graphics card yet :(.

2:Qt (and the style) does not use XComposite for drawing the widgets, but XRender. The compositing uses XRender too to do the actual transparent effects.
Since style speed = xrender speed, and compositing speed = xrender speed (mostly) then style speed = compositing speed (mostly), at least for a reference.

Btw. Tell me if you mind that I am using the menu system from the baghira.sf.net site for my qklouds website.

Ok, that's all i wanted to know. > 2:Qt (and the style) does not use >XComposite for drawing the widgets, but XRender. Yea, know this. I just worried if the Trolltech guys had implemented some kind of internal composite manager to allow composite stuff regardless if the system has a compmgr or not That'd caused some trouble ;) > Btw. Tell me if you mind that I am >using the menu system from the >baghira.sf.net site for my qklouds >website. No, why? It's just some simple CSS and much better (imho) as if you were using stupid js... ;)

though the screen shots do not show well organized widgets, but I can see the beauty hidden in it. I is soft on eyes and looks quite functional (visual sense) like mac os.

Keep up the good work dude! good luck.
