Download the archive, unpack and issue this command in a terminal:
we first make a copy of the files and copy them into your account, eg /home/...
mkdir xxx
sudo cp /usr/share/pixmaps/pidgin/tray/hicolor/22x22/status/*.* /home/[your-name]/xxx/
Now ... copy equivalents.
sudo cp /home/[account-name]/Desktop/status/*.* /usr/share/pixmaps/pidgin/tray/hicolor/22x22/status
