Description:

This iconset won't ever have a massive modification.
All the work I am doing on it right now is just trying to push it to perfection, making small changes release after release [you can see what's happening in the changelog below], so please feel free to report any bug you experience, but first of all ensure you've read the instructions file ;)

Now.. the description can begin...


At first I collaborated with crhispy, releasing different coloured versions of his worderful port "Oxygen-Refit".
Now I decided to create a fork of his porting, integrating some icons I caught around the web, and some others I edited/created by myself.

Please feel free to report and bug within the comments.

A great big thank for you all.

UPDATE

Archlinux users can install this iconset from the AUR repository, just typing:

yaourt -S hydroxygen-iconset

Hydroxygen are also have been included within the GNU/Linux Paldo official repos.

I also have almost the same problem. The script works fine for nautilus/thunar folder icons. But I noticed that when I open them through sudo, I still have the same default icons, and not the one I chose. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.

I'm not sure if this would help, but I noticed when I ran the rm command to remove the icon-theme.cache, the terminal prompts that the file does not exist. I checked the folders and that file indeed is not there. Any ideas?

when you launch nautilus or another program by root, it have the icon preferences of root, not the utenet's preferences.

Well, it works for other icon themes. I mean, when I launch nautilus or thunar with root priviledges using other themes (like black and white icons or even Leopard icons), it would use the custom themes, since I also installed those icons under gnome-appearance-properties with root priviledges as well. The hydroxygen theme would in a way do the same, but it won't follow the script configuration. It would simply run those icons in the hydroxygen's default icon (those black folders), while I had mine setup to use deviantdark.

Anyway, the folders icon set is the only thing I'm checking. Aside from that everything else looks fine for superuser applications (like Synaptic).

Never mind. I got it. I just had to run your script command right in the root shell for the icons. It's working now. Thanks.

I confirm.
This is not related with the iconset.. try another one, and you'll see that ALL superuser launched apps have the default icons/fonts/themes.
You can try these commands:

sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root/.themes
sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root/.icons
sudo ln -s ~/.fonts /root/.fonts

Also can you add mimetypes for java (.jar) files? lol Seems like alot to ask for but I understand if you don't have the time.

I have some .jar files with the package icons.. don't you see any icon associated with your .jar files?

All I see when I download a .jar file is a tar icon instead.

Do you think you can replace the HDD icon with the one from Oxygen Refit- Dark version. You know the one with the open top? It would be awsome if you could. Also could you give us a couple of options to change the home icon? Thanks for the great icon set and script by the way.

Do you have some home folder replacement to submit?

No I am just saying instead of having a house for the home icon could you make an option in your script to make it a folder instead. Like the ones from your Oxygen Refit icon themes.

I know that I have talked about this before, but maybe you could add another script for the trash icon? That way, I could use this wonderful Icon Theme! If it had the default Oxygen trash then even the dialog trash icon would be the same and I would be very, VERY, happy!

I am discussing right in these days on the ubuntu-it.org forum about the inctroducing of a script instruction to change the recycle bin.
I guess it'll be available in the next update.
But let me understand: would you like the default Oxygen-Refit one?

I would like to know if it is possible to add one more firefox icon.
It is a icon with only the fox, I saw it in the Royal icon theme (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Royal?content=87519). There is a low res. red/orange fox icon and a high res. black fox. I think the high res. icon is better, but it is up to you.

Thanks for the attention and congratulations for your work, this is the ultimate icon theme.
