Description:

*** NOTE ***
THIS THEME IS MOVED TO GitHub!

E17gtk is a dark Gtk theme with sharp corners, which is designed for use in Enlightenment and gives the elegant look of Enlightenment to Gtk3, Gtk2 and Qt widgets. Of course, it can be used with any GTK based environment too but it is not tuned to Gnome or any of its apps.

Seemingly, the theme works with GTK3-3.16 as it is. I just fixed tab bg.

Oct 21 2014 (revision)
-----------
As Nemo is the best GTK3 file manager, a customization of its active breadcrumb is added for Gtk+-3.14.

Oct 21 2014

* A little less concave pressed buttons.
* Minute changes to the pressed button border.
* Corrected Gtk2 scale handles.
* Updated for Gtk+-3.14. The older version is also included in a separate folder. See README!

It is already E17gtk .... I don't know, it looks any library is missing on Ubuntu, like an engine. I installed pixbuf.
I'm trying to change theme with both Ubuntu Tweak and Unity Tweak Tool.

Have you put the theme folder (E17gtk) in /usr/share/themes? I remember some Ubuntu users had told me such problems happen when the theme is installed in the user's home.

For gtk2, of gtkrc style "button"
I suggest removal of:
}
image {
function = FOCUS
file = "assets/button_default_glow.png"
border = {1,1,1,1}
stretch = TRUE

and adding it back in as an overlay for prelight and active buttons :
}
image {
function = BOX
state = PRELIGHT
file = "assets/button_normal.png"
border = {3,3,3,3}
stretch = TRUE
overlay_file = "assets/button_default_glow.png"
overlay_border = {1,1,1,1}
overlay_stretch = TRUE
}
image {
function = BOX
state = ACTIVE
file = "assets/button_active.png"
border = {3,3,3,3}
stretch = TRUE
overlay_file = "assets/button_default_glow.png"
overlay_border = {1,1,1,1}
overlay_stretch = TRUE

this gives nice nice toolbar button and regular button preglow and removes the pressed focus linger after button press.

Also suggest

style "menubar"
disabled this:
#bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = "assets/menubar_separator.png"

added back in here:
}
image {
function = BOX
state = NORMAL
file = "assets/menubar_separator.png"
border = {0,0,0,2}
stretch = TRUE
fix for line through menubar text, places line now at bottom of menubar.

Nice work, thanks

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

The image button_default_glow is for marking the default button, i.e. the button that is activated/deactivated with the Enter key. I may add another overlay for prelight, although I think prelight is already marked with a blue text.

I agree that the menubar separator is redundant. I'll remove it altogether.

Very nice work, this theme looks so good in an E1X enviroment.

Do you host this project in github or something like that? Is there a Plattform where we can post bugs if we find some?

Thanks you very much!
For now, please tell me about probable bugs or feature requests here. And please don't forget to check the GTK3 version; the current version is for 3.8.
BTW, I'm using it under E17, change some minor details once in while, and will upload the result here. Major updates will come with new versions of GTK3 in Debian Testing/Unstable.

Ok, I'm using the GTK version 3.10.7 and E18. I have some problems with a few search bars in firefox. For example the search bar of the Mozilla Firefox Start Page and the search bar of yahoo.com are a little buggy. The text that I type in isn't displayed. If I hit enter the search results appear, but I can't see what I'm typing. Chromium works perfect with yahoo.com

Please see the file README in the theme folder! The explanation in the Firefox section will solve your problem.

BTW, Firefox uses the GTK2 part of the theme. Are your GTK3 apps OK?

a contrast to all the gay-looking and unreadable lightgrey themes.
this is standard theme in e17.

Yes, the main idea belongs to the creators of E17. I liked it and then implemented it for GTK+2 and GTK+3 to have a uniform look under E17.

Absolutely splendid, it is the first non-flat gtk3 theme outside of oxygen-gtk3 i have ever seen. Awesome job!

Thank you!
Yes, it's non-flat but my other works are so too. Here The emphasis is on having sharp corners: once I saw them in E17, I found them easy on the eye.

Hi! I've modified your theme a bit in order to dim the icons for insensitive buttons (in order to make them distinguishable in toolbars, for example), and I've added also overshoot and undershoot effects, and made insensitive check's and radio's labels black. If you are interested, I can send you the gtk.css (which I have also merged into one single file for better debugging). I don't have github account. Otherwise, I can also publish my version and credit you for 99.99% of the job ;) I love this dark theme because it's both interesting and and with an excellent "legibility" for all items, which is not usually the case for most of dark themes (at most they're "either or").

This theme offers the best combination of contrast, gradients, & shadow for GTK. The only change I'd make is restoring scrollbar buttons on GTK3 for consistency (I'm aware of the issues & the difficulty of this undertaking, terminal scrollbars & embedded scrollbars are the main offenders)
