i use zsh as my shell and adam2 prompt with custom colors.
you simply have to add this to your .zshrc and your prompt will look as good as mine does:
prompt adam2 lightblue green green black

if you are interested in my complete .zshrc, tell me, i will share it with you of course :D

btw what exactly looks nasty, the theme?
you have to use artwiz snap font and it will look much better...
i use transparency level 180 too
