Reversed the gradient in the "fire", and blurred it a little, so it looks more like fire.

People didn't like the wallpaper so I made a second version (screenshot2), I think they will be pleased.

ROFL oh God I'm so sorry but your second wallpaper is horse vomit, a ten year old could draw better than that. Hell, my pet husky can draw better than that.

The first one wasn't all that great either IMO.

I not only think you're a child trying to look cool (as owing to the usage of "phail" plus your comments toward Toby, who never said he'd rather use Windows, nor that he was "happy with the current situation.") but you're making the entire GNU/Linux community look horrible and unprofessional. As I've said in a few other statements to people, when you want to sell people an item (in this case Linux) or an idea, you concentrate on the positive aspects of YOUR work, rather than bringing down the work of others. Its not a feel-good platitude. Its a hard and fast fact in the business world.

Which is what the Linux community is when you really think of it, an extended business without one specific company logo or office.

You'll learn all that when you're older and have taken some basic classes in marketing.

For now, just know this. I trust Microsoft about as far as I can throw a lead piano. I think they are what Enron and WorldCom could have been if they didn't get caught with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar.

I'm not a fan of Windows, not a fan of Microsoft's current practices, and DEFINITELY, most DEFINITELY, not a fan of your wallpaper(s).

The three don't cancel each other out, you know.

Oh, and BTW, I use Windows for games that I can't play on Linux. On a HP computer that I - note this next word - BOUGHT. It came with the computer. It was not pirated.

So in your own juvenile intarweb slang, "gg k thx."

Get off GNOME-Look before you make Linux users look worse.

(PS: If you think I tore you a new one, just wait until you get your first job and piss off the manager!)

So.. :)
You really did think my second wallpaper was for real?

It was friggin a joke, just proves you are not as smart as you think you are.

Besides, the ones giving Linux a bad reputation is definetly the ones that don't even use it, like you.

Thing is, you can do everything, if not more, with a GNU/Linux distro than you ever could with Windows. So I'm sorry, you don't make any sense at all.

That gaming bs is just the worst argument ever. If you're such a gamer, save some money and buy a video game console. It will be cheaper than upgrading your computer every six months to keep up with the games.

And I said THAT cause you imply Linux is not good enough for games. That's also a lame argument, which btw is not true at all.

Son, I not only code software which can be used on Linux, I had a 4.0 GPA all through high school. I'm very educated, I stay in tune with politics and the world around me. I watch Fox News, MSNBC and read stuff that you couldn't make sense of.

Therefore, I'm smarter than you think I am and than you will ever be.

As to your second point, wrong. I've been using Linux since Red Hat 7.3, and am now multi booting this computer with Slackware and Gentoo. I use a FreeBSD computer as a webserver.

Can you say the same?

Thirdly, no. You don't make sense.

4, since when is gaming the worst anything ever? A lot of computer users spend their time gaming and don't want to spend 600 dollars to get a PS3. Compare that to 80 dollars to upgrade a graphics card (say, 256MB NVIDIA, which is decent enough to handle most games, plus 60ish to get a stick of 512MB RAM at CompUSA.)

You can bet that in around as much time as it takes to need to upgrade a computer to play the new games, video game consoles will be upgraded as well.

5. I never said Linux wasn't good enough to play games. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be games such as Cold War and Majesty. Nor would Id have released Doom and Quake frontends.

You ain't helping your case here, kid.

HAHAHAHA!
Yeah, fox news smart...
c'mon, who doesn't know about them mr. current events.
Seriously though, I would not even mess with you if your icon wasn't a racist flag.

OH...to be fair, you are totally right about this art (art?)
It's lame in all ways art can be lame.

Ok I get how the "Son" thing is to make you seem superior to me, it's a lame attempt. Now to the point..

People referring to themselves as being extremely smart or intelligent are often the most stupid people I've ever met. That assumption have never proved me wrong and you, Sir, have been added to the list.

Now to my second point..
I don't really think you're a busy developer considering you have enough time to search for the keyword "Vista" on gnome-look.org and then attempt to bully whatever people you find, making you look like a small child (that includes crying and yelling when people disagree with you). You're not acting your age and it makes you look pathetic.

I, on the other hand, am in the age when I can do whatever the fuck I want and it will not make me a child nor an adult. I suggest you go see a counseler to fix that little problem of yours.

Best regards, and good luck!

Kid, I hate to say this, but you sound like a fucking rambling idiot. You just contradicted your own argument. Linux HAS THE CAPABILITY TO DO ANYTHING BUT IT LACKS THE SUPPORT FROM HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE VENDORS AT THE MOMENT!!! I love using Linux, been using Ubuntu for the past 2 years. Gaming at this moment is a very good defense for hard-core gamers to stick with Windows Operating Systems for the games. You stated that GNU/Linux can do anything plus more, but gamers need to stop complaining and buy a PS3. Why did you say that? Because Linux lacks gaming support by software vendors. Therefore, that is something LINUX CAN'T DO. (BUT ONLY FOR THE MOMENT) I have loads of hardware at my house that Linux doesn't support. Not that Linux is the problem, just lacks the support from hardware vendors for drivers. My 200 dollar sound card isn't supported yet, but works so well with Windows Vista. Also, as a hardcore gamer myself on my windows computer, I myself begin to appreciate games being ported to PC that are also on a dedicated console. My Xbox360 and my PS3 have games that lag horribly during car race scenes and explosion scenes. The same game will be for a PC, and will work flawlessly because the hardware support is there and my PC is stronger then my PS3 and XBOX360. So Linux can't do everything that a PC and a Mac can do, but that is only for the moment. The support is coming for Linux. It's growing everyday. But Linux is still very small on the home desktop world compared to Mac and PC.
Another thing, your pictures that you created are very amateurish and need to have more thought put into it.

I don't get what's with all of the anti-Microsoft sentiments. If you don't like Windows, simply don't use it and leave it at that. I can guarantee that at least 50% of the people who contribute here use Windows for gaming or some other reason. You can't really speak badly of an OS that you need for some reason.

Bashing anything like this simply because you don't like it makes you look like immature fanboys with nothing better to do. I don't like Microsoft or their products as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to waste my time and be a Linux or OSS fanboy about it and create "art" to attempt to make a point that no one cares about.

lol..no, its getting bad votes because it sucks, you're using a decent free/open desktop why the need to have a wallpaper that bad mouths vista, its like
"yeah it sucks but i need to have this constant reminder because I'm compensating for my inadequates"

Maybe I'm just saying that it sucks cause I think it does suck. I want to remind people to not use it.

Just look at FSF with their badvista.org site. It _IS_ necessary to badmouth Vista to make people realize how much it sucks.

So I guess you're happy with the current situation. MS waving patents around, trying to scare companies from migrating to free software. I'm not happy with that situation at all.

But why the need to badmouth, if you win a race do you rub it into all the other racers, pointing out all their flaws.

if you have a better product/solution it will speak for it self and not need people badmouthing the competition.

Uh, no offense - but Richard Stallman's practices isn't exactly a good argument - he's a zealot and most people know this.
It's a shame the Linux community is so petty, considering the quality of the software and their apparent passion for it. Having said that; voting down a wallpaper like this one is a good thing if you ask me. It's bad artwork, regardless of the message. There's a huge difference between informing someone of a superior product; trying to help them, and just dissing their OS for no apparent reason.
Do you really think having "vista sucks" written in large letters on your wallpaper makes more of an impact than having "Linux - The Worlds Best OS" on it? I don't. Porsche dealerships don't write "FORD'S SUCK!" on their signs.

How about the Apple ads then. Apparently they've increased sales for Apple. Are you saying they're not bad mouthing Vista?

As for all of you saying this is bad artwork, when did I say it was art?

So this boils down to you people using Windows for gaming and because of that you get offended. Why not just buy a PS3 if you want to play games?

I don't really like the "dual-boot" philosophy:
"I have to use a pirated copy of Windows to play my pirated games"

Cause we all know that no one who uses Windows for games buys either the operating system nor the games. I don't like being illegal, maybe that's why I don't agree with your philosophy.

Flame all you want, prove me I'm wrong. I just think it's hypocrisy to use GNU/Linux and free software/open source programs, thinking they're great, but at the same time thinking Windows is really great.

There is no public record of whether or not Apple had success with the Get a Mac campaign. Furthermore; they are not bashing Microsoft/Windows - they are pointing out flaws, while suggesting that they have a solution to said flaws. That's the difference.

Wallpaper falls under "artwork" - ART-work.

If you think I must use Windows for games or otherwise, to disagree with this infantile attempt to discredit Microsoft/Windows, you are a child.
You say "Cause we all know that no one who uses Windows for games buys either the operating system nor the games" but this comes from YOUR experience - you offer no unbiased statistics or research to back up this idiotic and antiquated observation.

Having suggested you are a child might be too kind, since you conclude your reply by stating that you believe it to be hypocritical to use one operating system, without disliking all others.

A nice example of why this is complete idiocy; Beryl would never have been had it not been for Apple's Mac OS X.

Grow up - The world is not black and white. Stop this fanatic BS and get with the program. GNU/Linux is gaining ground, but it's entirely thanks to people that are *nothing* like yourself.

Did I ever say that you must use Windows for games? Think it was someone else.

So I guess you failed there, Mr Danish guy.

I've pointed out that you could play games just as well on GNU/Linux if you wanted to. If you don't like Linux then buy a PS3. Why are you using Linux btw? Considering you'd rather use Windows.
