Description:

Following the "Crunchy Branch Animated" script and adding some effects based on the "Fretstak" and "Crunchy Branch" wallpapers, this wallpaper simulates the Morning to Night process by tracking your local time.

Untar the file into your Pictures folder. then, double click or execute the "install" script using "sh ./install" (thanks to brenan99 for the script). After that, select the XML file as wallpaper.
Last changelog:

Same problem, i can't understand how an xml file can check system time...it's only an xml file not an executable or something...really nice job but don't work for me...

Should I change the Time and date in the xml?

No don't worry about that. It worked fine for me.

Awesome wallpaper idea!
I've got it working fine in Gnome, but I recently moved to Xfce which I'm rather pleased with. Is there any way to get this working in Xfce?
I've tried selecting the path to the .xml file as wallpaper and dragging and dropping the .xml file as well as creating a new list. None seem to work - just gives a generic blue background.

I cannot download the second file. The file server makes errors.

Really, can't we host files here on gnome-look.org?

nice work, thanks for bringing it to a whole nother level
I'm really appreciating this, have some flyfishermen phasing through scenes. This works really well with the theme you set up. I like how you timed your pictures light balance to the time of day.

That one is awesome.

But you should mention in the description that you have to be running Hardy to use it. XML Animated Wallpaper aren't Supported by Gutsy ;)

Hi, the most of the cases is because you have not updated the XML file with your current path or 'cos there is a typo.

Also using jpeg files for this kind of image would make the file size 1/4 of the current one.

It would be great if you could post the "source" file for this, so that new resolutions and formats can be made out of it.

Hmmm I don't know. It is very easy to convert these pics to JPG but some times this format decreases the pictures' quality.

why is this in SVG category?

It's great by the way!

I can't find any documentation on the xml file that does the trick. I'd like to experiment on that too.

Moved to another one. Actually there is no 1280x800 widescreen category so I had to move it to the one that matches the most!.
