Description:

Following the "Crunchy Branch Animated" script and adding some effects based on the "Fretstak" and "Crunchy Branch" wallpapers, this wallpaper simulates the Morning to Night process by tracking your local time.

Untar the file into your Pictures folder. then, double click or execute the "install" script using "sh ./install" (thanks to brenan99 for the script). After that, select the XML file as wallpaper.
Last changelog:

I've just a question:

Does the wallpaper change automatically or does it need to reboot or log out the computer. I try at 5pm but the wallpaper changing didn't seem to work... :/

Thanks for your answers.

Wow this is amazing and not just the xml trick. The Wall is great too.

This is truly fabulous. VERY nice! I may never use another wallpaper -- unless you somehow come up with something that tops it.

Of course it's cool that it changes with the time of day, but that's really just a bonus. It's also a startlingly original looking (to me), very pleasing wallpaper.

LOVE IT!

Sorry, noob here, as instructed in the original post: 'Please modify the XML file and replace current path with the path where you plan to place the folder, after that, select the XML file as wallpaper.'

How do I select the XML file as wallpaper?

Its a really great wallpaper, so id like to get it to work for me too!!

If I am not wrong, you can drag the xml file into the "wallpaper window".. I am not sure, I will check later and let you know step by step.

Excellent wallpaper! Does it exist in 1280*1024 resolution?
Tip: For applying the AllDayLong, you can open the wallpaper manager, and when you browse your computer, check if "All files" is selected in browser support, instead of "Images". After, open the file AllDayLong.xml. I tested it and it works.

Sorry for the names of functions, I have a french version of Ubuntu.

Bye! ^^

I'll be truly impressed when someone makes an animated wallpaper that not only changes with time but also hooks up with weather servers and changes based on things like whether or not it's raining.

Time to get impressed so...

I think that already exists: http://mundogeek.net/weather-wallpaper/

Is that what you mean?

That is exactly what I meant. Thank you very much for informing me of it. Now I have to go through the difficulty of deciding whether I'll keep your wallpaper or change it to the one on that site.

I think calling it animated is stretching the term, but it does change based on the time of day and that is a pretty nice feature.
It is well done and very easy to install and setup.

Hi. At first I moved the .xml file to my change desktop window and it went orange, because I didn't edit it. now, it won't let me delete it. is there a terminal command or folder I can go to to manually delete it. it is going to drive me crazy if I can't get rid of it.

thanks,
alex

You shouldn't have any issue, just make sure that you keep all the wallpapers and .xml file in the same folder and you have the right paths in the xml file as well.. after that try to select another wallpaper to display. Add AllDayLong again and set it as your wallpaper.. That should fix your problem.

Regards.

I was having a problem with this. It's pretty self explanatory, and I set the path by using "Replace". It kept giving me a black screen, so I looked at the xml file closely, and it was set like this:

/AllDayLong03.png

when it should be something like this:

/AllDayLong/03.png

BTW, thanks for this Awesome wallpaper! I have many ideas that stem from this.

I think this is totally awesome, but you might want to make it clear in your description (for all us non-tech people) that to make it a background you have to manually drag the xml file in because if you click on "Add" you can only select pictures. Someone mentioned it in the comments too, but it can't hurt to put it up front.

Again, I really love the wallpaper though!

awesome wallpaper...ive been looking for something like this forever.

just one question...can you use it with desktop drapes? I couldn't add to regular wallpaper window using the browser because it only looks for pictures, so i had to drag and drop it in, but that worked fine...however, i like to use desktop drapes and i cant drag and drop the xml into that menu.

Hi,

What is the time format of this
10800 , 18000?? min, hour, second?

Thanks.

And, another question:

It's 00:53 in France, and the background N°8 has disappeared.
For give place at a blank wallpaper.

On Fedora, and Debian..

Why?
