My first impression from the thumb was, "God, it's not enough that we have a million Aero window border clones." I was pleasantly surprised when I actually saw the preview. Nicely done.

I'm working in a audio shop and I'm forced to sell Vista computers... So I'm going to use this wallpaper in the shop... until my boss will detect the wallpapers... :).

Cool - equivalent of former Blue Screen of Death - perfectly presented in aero - gave me lots of laughs :)

I love it because that's just so true and even better it's probably from a real
vista install I also wouldn't use this as my wallpaper but still love it.

I would never use this picture on my desktop, but i think the idea is good. To the ones that voted bad: take a second look at the picture.

The signal troops of the german army have a jingle: First think, then press the button and then speak. This sentence is valid for you guys, too. First look, than think about the intention, at last comment and vote.

For the ones who still don't understand: you can see seven program windows in the beautiful vista look, but in all windows there occured an error, more exact: a bluescreen was the reason for the errors.

That's cool. I do not like vista.

Most posters actually referred to the error message and still didn't like it. Just like I don't.

there are a lot's of funny stuff in relations with windows vs linux or whatelse..and this is just for fun..not to offend or intentionally declare war to other os...
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=39734
this is just for funny..and who remember the penguin who kills the msn butterfly?..i think is one of the most downloaded.
I personally figure out this wallpaper very nice and funny..because it's an ironic contrast between present (vista) ad paste (xp)..so i voted GOOD...and keep on..:)

I too voted bad on this, for two reasons:

1) The use of opened windows on wallpaper is potentially confusing, especially if KDE should adopt the ability to display windows at an angle like that (does anyone on here know if it already does?). I've heard rumors that Gnome already has this ability, in fact.

2) Why should we promote an OS that has already done more than any other OS in history to take people's freedoms away? Vista does this in at least two ways:

2A) Digital Rights Management (DRM) is an integral part of Vista, which means that you cannot play movies or music that are digitally "protected" by the producers of such content unless you have hardware that Vista considers "protected" -- this even includes DVDs you already legally own! Attempts to do so will result in poor playback quality or no playback at all. In this regard, Microsoft is paying all sorts of attention to Hollywood while totally neglecting the needs and wants and wishes of the consumer. I predict that this will come back to bite Microsoft in the tush.

2B) You are only allowed to transfer Vista to another computer ONCE. After that, that copy of Vista will no longer be usable, forcing you to buy another copy of Vista.

Linux, on the other hand, has no such restrictions built in to it. In fact, Linux allows, and in fact, encourages its user base to share it with friends, family, co-workers, complete strangers, etc. Why fool around with an OS that TAKES AWAY your freedoms when Linux ENCOURAGES freedom, among other things?

I think all you guys are hung up on the Windows aspect of it that you didn't look at the contents of the windows in the background!

It's a joke!

I simply think that this is not the place to post it. This is a site to collect KDE look contents, and I respect also nudes as expression of art, but not this.

OVERREACTION?

Hello

As you may see in the first comment, 2nd position, I don't like the idea neither. But well, I see it less worse than you. I think this is the wrong way, but hey - is there the "get the facts" campaign existing or not?

So I do not think such things are the right way to go, but it's better doing sthg productive (as me in participating the kbfx team), but I wouldn't see it as a reason to ban...

I agree with you Nathanael. Indeed it is not appropriate to post this kind of content, but Leobold seems just another KDE fanatic to me, and I don't think we should immediately ban people.

In fact, when we "ban" people. we are trying to rule people out, and that is not the kind of community KDE in fact is!

So, no content like this anymore ;) And no bans!

Hi,

I don't want to start flaming here, but I'm really doubting the intentions of the poster. Why does this stuff need to end up here?

KDE is a competitor on Mac and Windows, but do we really need to play the game "this" way?

Instead of these kind of wallpapers help us out with real cool content ;)

Hello

I don't want to flame, but I don't like it, and I feel that some things are problematic with that bg:

1. I don't like background pictures with windows (as in program windows, not in the product) on it. it's disturbing and takes the focus from the really opened windows

2. The Vista and Windows logo are probably trademarked

3. I don't like microsoft, and vista neither. But do you really think that linux is that bad that it can only score by pointing to failures of our big opponent? I don't thinik so. There are so many good things about linux that I see no need in pointing with the finger on windows. I'm a Pro sthg type rather than a Contra sthg type of man.

4. My Pro is that the artwork (aesthetically) is nice. Though it might not be your work but the one of bad coders? ;-)

Ok, that were my two cents and the reason I vote bad. Hope you don't take it personal. BTW: my rating for "bad" mostly comes from the fact of opened windows in a wallpaper, which I find a bit disturbing - for the exact purpose of a wallpaper.

Other things are just general considerations...
