fishel, i used this:

class "GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-clear"

widget_class "*MenuBar.*" style "menubar-clear"

widget_class "*Nautilus*.GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-clear"

and then finally for Firefox and Open Office add:

widget_class "*.<GtkMenuShell>*" style "menubar-clear"

And the result becomes good. menubar-clear was a great tip.

Me too, but only in Firefox I've got it. Nautilus doesn't make any problems.
Damn, I love this theme, I'm using ist since v1 ^^

I'm also experiencing the menubar bug even though the changelog shows it's fixed.

Hi Guys,

I am not expert in programming, but find a solution to menubar in OpenOffice and Firefox.

Same as many post, also in my system (Debian Lenny) menubar in OOffice and Firefox appers text in black... so you can solve that editing you file:

/home/<yourusername>/.themes/LiNsta3/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

In line 1816 find something like this:

class "GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
widget_class "*MenuBar.*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
widget_class "*Nautilus*.GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-blue-deep"

And just add the next lines:

####### TO FIX OPEN OFFICE & FIREFOX (ICEWEASEL) MENU BAR ###################
widget_class "*.<GtkMenuShell>*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
#######

I suppose you are using "menubar-blue-deep" color

Reset Gnome and thats all!

Well this change made OOffice menubar looks right, but also other menus in your system, so it's not perfect but works. In my case I enjoy the change but depends on you. If not like it, just remove the lines you previously added.

If somebody knows about GTK programming help please... because Class GtkMenuShell its a container for GtkMenu and GtkMenuBar so changing in this way style affect all your system.

Thanks a lot for providing vista like environment. Linux rules!!!

One problem though. Gnome Shutdown window or logout window have strange white
and black colored stripes on it. Seems like the picture of panel is being drawn
over the window in rows. Any ideas how to get rid of them? Thanks. Keep up the
good work.

can someone suggest something:
atm the 'separator dots' don't work. I only see system gray narrow bars. On the screenshot above the panel is fine but I can't get it to work right

First wanna say that I love this theme, but wish it were more ready to use out-of-the-box. Regardless, thanks for sharing your work!

My reason for writing, though, is to let you know that the panel-bg-black-24.svg is the same size as the panel-bg-black-36.svg (i.e. it's 1x36, rather then 1x24.) Maybe it's supposed to be this size, but I'm guessing not. Since I use a 24 pixel panel heigth, I changed it to 1x24 on my system and it looks much better (now lines up with the button images, etc.)

hi guys i'm using feisty and was wondering how to change the main menu ICON on the start icon the previous sugestion in this thread did not work for me

Report

Just rename start.svg to distributor-logo.svg and place it in the 'places' folder of your icon theme (e.g. ~/.icons//Neu/24x24/places/).

hi,

I'm using ubuntu feisty and like your theme a lot.
The only problem I've found till now is the "create new launcher" dialog from the context menu. The whole window is black and you can hardly see anything. The mouseover colours on the buttons are not blue as elsewhere, but green.

It's not that big problem for me, because I mostly don't use the dialog, but perhaps you could fix this in future releases.

Did you ever find a fix for this - I'm experiencing same problem too.
I have a relatively new install Ubuntu Gutsy (using Compiz by default) Also using the Linsta black flat theme, but the issue seems to be related to the GTK style.

I'm having this problem also. It seems to be skinning it as a menubar. It also occurs when viewing the launcher properties for every launcher.

This is how i changed the black menu bar. Extract the linista theme. Open the gtkrc file with an editor. Toward the end of the file find class "gtkMenuBar and change the syle to "menubar-clear" and change widget_class "MenuBar style to "menubar-clear" then save changes to the file and then create an archive of the entire linista folder change extension to .tar.bz2 install the new theme

After i installed the theme i had to customize it and change the controls to another theme and then change back to linista for the changes to take affect.

the height of my panel is 48; but from what i can guess, the height of the background used by it is only 36; i tried messing around with the configuration files but i couldn't get a satisfactory result; please help

this is a great theme, but i have a problem that kinda bothers me: my downside bar in gnome is bigger than normal because i use large icons; so the problem is this: instead of stretching the background, it tiles it, resulting in a really ugly and annoying output; could you please instruct me on how to fix this?

I really enjoy this theme, I use it on my desktop at home(openSuse 10.2), at school (ubuntu dapper), and on my laptop (ubuntu feisty). I run beryl + xgl with gnome on my laptop and use the HumanVista theme from beryl.org, the aero icon theme from this website, and the aeroFox basic theme 1.9 with my firefox.

I edited the gtrc file to use the brown and orange (e.g. "menubar-brown" in class "GtkMenuBar*" near the bottom of the gtkrc file) and changed "Menu-Menubar/menubar-black.svg" on line 22 and 31 of menubar-custom.rc to "Menu-Menubar/menubar-black.png" to resolve the file not found errors.

Kudos for thoroughly adding all the different styles!

This is a really well made theme and I've spent a while customising it thanks to the flexibility within the gtk configuration file.

I have come across one issue and I know this isn't the only theme with this problem that is, when I add an icon such as trash to a panel with a transparent background, the icon's background is still that of the panel for theme which is black. This ruins the look of the panel with the transparent background as the trash icon's background isn't transparent. Anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks, and well done on the great theme :)
