I've compiled it on Gentoo, but I get:

An error occurred while loading sysinfo:/:
The process for the sysinfo protocol died unexpectedly.

On .xsessions-errors:

process 1344: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, assertion "_dbus_check_is_valid_path (path)" failed in file dbus-message.c line 1074.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
kioslave: ####### CRASH ###### protocol = kio_sysinfo pid = 1344 signal = 6

Which version of dbus is required?

My System filed is empty as in your first screenshot in English. In the second Screenshot in Italian there ist Kubuntu as System. How to change that ?

If you use kubuntu, install the "Kubuntu Mod version". In other distro i don't know if the system is shown correctly.. if someone want to try (with basic version, not kubuntu mod) with other distros, report to my email if the system is shown correctly and where the system informations are written in your distro (for example in kubuntu are in /etc/lsb-release). otherwise i try to fix it.

bye!

Ok with the mod version it works but it is in ITALIAN. So it is no option for me ...

if you want to fix this problem change the line 561 of sysinfo.cpp in this way:

m_info[ OS_SYSTEM ] = readFromFile( "/etc/lsb-release", "DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION", "=" );

and, if you want, add this line:

m_info[ OS_VERSION ] = readFromFile( "/etc/lsb-release", "DISTRIB_CODENAME", "=" );

compile and then the system information is shown correctly!

i'll release fixed package as soon as possible!

The CPU Information just shows one CPU. Would it be possible to show both (or every) CPU available ?

I have a dual core processor and it's shown in the "CPU information" (it says "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+")... I have understood your question correctly?

I've got a Intel Core Duo 1,66 GHz and it only shows: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2300 @ 1.66GHz

i'm sorry, but the kio-slave simply reads the cpu information from /proc/cpuinfo... i don't know if there is a solution for your problem.. sorry

Same problme here ...
Core 2 Duo...
cat /proc/cpuinfo shows me that there is processor 0 and processor 1. So it is an error in the application. Here the relevant parts from cpuinfo:
Quote:
processor : 0
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz
cpu MHz : 1662.542

processor : 1
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz
cpu MHz : 1662.542

Hi, could you add the root hard drive to the system info page, so we can see the amount of space on our primary hard drives? also, the nice looking blue fade needs to be larger for 1920x1200 monitors.

Its a little weird that the cpu icon says amd when i have an intel chip... can that also be fixed?

the root hard drive ( / ) is already present. Look the screenshot, my root partition is called "supporto 20G".
The icon can be changed, i quote the project description:
"If you want to change the incons of the kio slave put your personal one into the folder "/usr/share/apps/sysinfo/about/images"
(48x48 pixel)"

bye!

Currently I'm trying to change the videocard section to use HAL instead of hdinfo (which isn't in every distro). Since this is upstream, you want my patch once I manage to fix it up?
