Which distribution do you use???

I've done the Arch package for this. You could use the original kdebase package to build this instead of uploading the source somewhere else.

Also, for your "system" you can replace the /etc/SuSE-release in the sysinfo.cpp (using sed -i -e "s/SuSE-release/<debian-version file>/" sysinfo/sysinfo.cpp

I'm quite sure debian has a version file, if not, you could just replace it using
sed -i -e "s/readFromFile( \"\/etc\/SuSE-release\" )/\"Ubuntu Linux\"/" sysinfo/sysinfo.cpp

// STi

You still could have transitioned your Windows users to openSUSE anyway. ;-) It has this feature since a year ago (SUSE 10.1).

thanks for the info, but the problem was simply that I haven't any free space to install a lot of dev libs, at the moment ;)

i can't help you with a amd64 package put you can create it.

on kubuntu 7.04:

-download the source code
-untar it
-enter into the folder (sysinfo-1.3)
-install x,kde, hal dev files (sudo apt-get install xlibs-dev kdelibs4-dev hal-dev)
-in konsole:
--"./autostart.sh"
--"./configure.sh"
-- make
-- sudo make install

You have compiled and install the kio slave!

to create a deb package install "checkinstall"

sudo apt-get install checkinstall

then:

sudo checkinstall

and follow the instruction

if you create a amd64 deb post it on keepmyfile and post here the link, thanks!

Nice. It's not showing hard disk info but it's OK with me.
I've made amd64 .deb package on Kubuntu 7.04 (KDE 3.5.7 - but it shouldn't be a problem).
The link to it is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dnjxc9zjjxd
It's on Mediafire file host so please move it to some "safer" place :-)
Keep on good work.

Other than "this is cool!", the only thing is a request: the headers over the disk space aren't aligned over the values.

Otherwise, this is really neat.
