Description:

These pictures were taken on our college campus. We had never see such a chameleon before nor have we seen one after this. (ps. "The Geeko" is the openSUSE logo-mascot... also known as the "Green Lizard" and sometimes the "Green Mean Machine").

You're right. it's not Gecko, it's Geeko. thanks for the tip. Wallpaper name stands corrected.

As you mentioned, it's a (common) Chameleon (Chamaeleo Calyptratus), from Jemen, Saudi Arabia etc.
So whoever patched the "Gecko" name to it i don't know, but it's incorrect.
By the way, this type of chameleon is known to be "anti-social" and should be kept single. Thought you might want to know ;-)
