Description:

Smooth Blend - a smooth blending of the window background color into the titlebar.

This is my first attempt at a KDE window decoration.
Any comments would be much appreciated and can be posted here or sent to my email.

NOTICE:
For anyone installing over the beta or 1.0 that used the rpm, be sure to remove the old one first:

rpm -e smoothblend-beta2
-or-
rpm -e smoothblend-1.0

If you get errors about an unknown signature when installing the new rpm, the rpm is signed by Scott Grayban and you should follow the directions on his rpm site to add his key http://rpm.borgnet.us/10.1/ or rpm -iUvh --nosignature smooth-blend-1.1-1bgn.i586.rpm.

If you have his key, the normal install is:
rpm -iUvh smooth-blend-1.1-1bgn.i586.rpm

For both the tarball or rpm version, you need to issue this command after you install:
kwin --replace &
or simply logout and back into kde.

Thanks to sgrayban for testing and hosting the file download.

I will add that to my TODO list and maybe get that in the beta2 release.

and another comment, this windec goes much better with plastic as the plastic windec :D

even better with lipstik, by the way...

This window decoration is extremely nice! The Gradient is perfectly balanced and I like that it is so configurable.

Keep up your great work on this windec.

its a cool windec. I'd love to see you remove the thin blue line around the windows and under the windec (so it's really smooth). is that possible?

and maybe round the windows a bit more?

I should be able to make that a configuration option later so that the line on the left, right and bottom is the same as the window contents background color.
In rounding the corners a bit more, do you mean all of them or just the bottom corners to match?

great. and I meant mostly the bottom corners.

btw this windec is really good looking! I like some gnome windecs, mostly because of the buttons - they are, like these, bigger. good work!

aaah, thats why they felt so familiar... I saw them before :D

anyway, nice work. Can't wait for beta2, as (I guess) it has the abillity to hide the thin blue line...

btw, about the blue line: its cool to have it around the window, but imho its annoying to have it under the windeco itself... that way its not smooth anymore. so you can (if you want to) keep it around the window (there MUST be some kind'a line, anyway, a window looks bad without any, make it configurable, or follow the titleblend?) but remove it/allow removal beneath the button bar.

There is now a config option to enable/disable that titlebar separator.
It will be in beta2.

That makes more sense. I wasn't too sure about it when I put it in, but it defined the window contents well, so I left it.
That's why feedback is good to have.

I've always wanted to write a windec, but now I finally got enough information to do it. Thanks, and I hope you like it.
