Please direct any questions, bug reports or requests to the original author.
This rpm has been built and tested on Mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2. Older versions and source rpms are available at sf.net.
Note: To quickly switch between Aqua and Brushed styles, start bab from the KDE menu (System/Other) or from the konsole.
If the download fails with a "Not Found" error, please try a different mirror or try again later as it takes a while for all the sf.net mirrors to get updated.

I have installed the 0.6e version of Baghira. I;m running a Mandrake 10.0 box with kde 3.2. I see the Baghira Window Decorations item there, but when I want to switch to the style, I can't. I cannot find it. I've tryed everything: install the rpm, recompile and install. Nothing works. Have any ideas on how I can fix this?

Also, i had to remove the menu shadow, since it wouldnt draw correctly, but this happen in all themes i know.
And finally and worse, wether I remove all shadows option even text, all ripple or whatever linked to menus or not, there is a redraw of the menus AFTER they have raised. I already had 2 krashes with 2 apps, konqui and kopete, since I put this theme and always during a menu operation.
On the aesthetical side, this theme is very very good.

deactivate ALL KDE effects for menus (right anything you can find on the 2nd tab)
no shadows, no fading/scrolling, no translucency
everything else will mess up with the baghira fake translucency engine (use the effect settings you can find in the baghira tab - AND ONLY THEM :)
That should remove artefacts from the menus (reason, why i wrote the internal effect engine) and avoid crashes (baghira fading + kde/qt fading = very bad combination)

I used the SRPM to rebuild the RPM on my pclinuxOS system (based on MDK 10.0) running kde 3.3 and qt 3.3.3.
The Style is listed under Look and feel and is still used with my old settings from the 0.4 version. What is gone is the kcmshell module baghira which allows me to configure the style. After manually adding back an empty Goddies directory the SRPM built just fine with no errors. Is this on purpose or am I missing something in my build? (with the supplied RPM file it is the same...)
Thanks J.

After rebuilding your src.rpm and installing I cannot change the splash screen.
I'm stuck with Britanny Spears, ugh.

Apparently the RPM installation copies the Theme.rc and associated .png files into ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/Themes
When Baghira is turned on for any user this happens as well.
Anyway this overrides the default theme settings in the Kcontrol Splash applet.
I merely moved the files into ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/Britany and the problem stopped.
You may want to see about adjusting the RPM.
EXCELLENT never-the-less!

However when I went to install the compiled RPM you posted on my laptop, the same thing happened.
Britany appeared where it wasn't before (nor had I downloaded or installed any such theme...).
The Baghira RPM was the only thing installed that would account for this.
Britany didn't appear prior to it's installation.
While I may be mistaken, I have yet to find the source of the Britany splash screen which was installed.
Thanks though.

I'm running Mandrake 10 with all of the updates and a lot of packages from Contrib.
I thought that maybe it was a problem with the fact that I recompiled the RPM myself so I took your RPM file over to my laptop which also runs Mandrake 10.
Sure enough, the same problem.
I can't get rid of Britany!
Where are the files kept for this, so at the least I can replace them.
Thanks!
