Description:

Karamba Met Office Weather Themes
=================================
Nick Glass 2003-2004

This package includes two karamba themes
metoffice-uk.theme - 5 day forecast for a town/city in the uk.
metoffice-world.theme - 5 day forecast for a city in the rest of the world.

Place the perl scripts somewhere in your path and ensure they are executable with:
chmod u+x metoffice-uk.pl metoffice-world.pl

Edit the script for you chosen theme and set the location and desired units.

If you would prefer a language other than English, you can use a translation
of the forecasts by editing the %days hash and the @forecast array.

Hope you enjoy my work.
Feel free to use my scripts / themes as you please.

When I load this module, I obtain the follow error:

[eduard@localhost .superkaramba]$ superkaramba
superkaramba: TaskManager::TaskManager()
ImportError: No module named metoffice-world
------------------------------------------------------
What does ImportError mean?

It means that I couldn't load a python add-on for metoffice-world.theme
If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python
extensions, than nothing is wrong.
------------------------------------------------------

And in the screen appears only the image png without any information.

What this??? :o

its a nice script, but there are some problems you might want to address or mention. first metoffice.com has very limited weather reports outside of the UK (at least in north america, i didnt check other continents), second your scripts seem to require HTML::TokeParser and LWP::Simple, neither of which are listed in any requirements list.

Both HTML::TokeParser and LWP::Simple are installed as standard on MDK9.1. If not installed, then they can be installed very simply with the command:

perl -MCPAN -e 'install HTML::TokeParser'

perl -MCPAN -e 'install LWP::Simple'

Might be useful to include this in the readme.txt tho.

Regarding HTML::TokeParser and LWP::Simple. Sorry about that Ive only used perl for the last two days I didnt realise they werent standard.

and re metoffice.com, sorry if it doesnt do your area, is there a better global forecast site you would prefer.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, for some time.

The other great thing is that I can now use that site to generate weather forecasts to download to my Palm.

Excellent work.
