CPU Frequency Scaling icons in greyscale
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
This is CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor applet icons I created for Humanity icon theme.
This version is with greyscale fill.
To use it, copy icons to you /usr/share/pixmaps/cpufreq-applet/ directory.
To do it in terminal, cd to extracted icons and do
sudo cp cpufreq-* /usr/share/pixmaps/cpufreq-applet/

Could you have a go at the Ubuntu One icon? I tried making the original greyscale but it looked messy.
Ubuntu One is installed by default in Karmic and really standsout next to the other grey status icons

/usr/share/ubuntuone-client/icons/hicolor
which has the status icons for error/offline. The most important size is 24x24 which is the size of default panels.
I think that for the normal status icon they just use the application icon at
/usr/share/app-install/icons/ubuntuone-client.png
Good luck mate, I can see from you 1.5 version you have talent. The trouble I had was making different sizes. The new humanity status seem to be simpler, only two shades.
