This has improved a lot recently well done

If you want to stop the glide animation in Compiz so that the menu just does a normal fade to appear not a slow animation, goto System->Prefs->CompizConfig Settings Manager and in the animation section append

& !(name=GnoMenu)

to the Open and Close animations to stop the menu behaving like a normal window when it opens and closes, feels more responsive.

You may need to install CompizConfig-Settings-Manager in Synaptic first if you have not already played with the compiz settings

You say to download the package for the full changelog, but you haven't updated it since version 1.6. What gives?

This is a funny bug. In GnoMenu, when I click on the uninstall button in the Button selection to uninstall a Button theme, it instead uninstalls the theme selected under Icon Selection. When I click on the uninstall button under Icon Selection, guess what? It uninstalls the selected theme under Button Selection! I'm using GnoMenu 1.9, and using Ubuntu Intrepid (if that makes any difference).

If it has a fix already, great. I just want to share this funny issue. I'm enjoying it.

1. With compositing disabled GnoMenu crashes with:
./GnoMenu.py run-in-window
30
start
Traceback (most recent call last):

self.hwg = Main_Menu(self.HideMenu)

TypeError: GtkWidget.set_colormap() argument 1 must be gtk.gdk.Colormap, not None

(GnoMenu.py:21127): Bonobo-WARNING **: Never got frame, control died - abnormal exit condition

It doesn't happen with theme "Slab", "Short" or my custom (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Simple-Solid+GnoMenu+Theme?content=105187). With compositing disabled everything works fine.

2. When I use theme that should have white letters on dark background in program list I'm getting yellow. It happens with all themes. Black letters work fine.
Any clues?

Archlinux 64, GnoMenu 1.9.6

I get a box with "GnoMenu needs to be restarted to fix some settings" when trying to add GnoMenu to the panel. Afterwards an error message tells me the following:
""GnoMenu" has quit unexpectedly. If you reload a panel object, it will automatically be added back to the panel."
Nevertheless, when I run $GnoMenu-py run-in-window; it does work, but in a window, I want to run it on a panel.
I'm using Fedora 10. And I believe python 2.5. hope you can help me, thx
