(easy) Instructions are included in the package.

Just unpack and follow the Instructions.

For standard units (Fahrenheit), just add "--imperial" behind "conkyforecast" in the weather data (~/.Conky/weather):

${execpi 1800 conkyForecast --imperial --location=XXXXXX --metrespersecond --template=~/.bin/conky/conkyForecast.template}

Should work with all resolutions with a minimum width of 1200.

For using the lines on the background, just open "Lines.png" with Gimp and put the image in the top left corner of your wallpaper.

Um die Linien im Hintergrund zu nutzen musst du das Bild "Lines.png" mit Gimp öffnen und als Ebene in die Linke obere Ecke deines Wallpapers editieren.

Maybe it's an arch issue.
I'm having problems too, even if i'm quite sure this is not due to resolution...
I think there is a problem in conkyForecast.template becouse titles and infos are not aligned in my screen. I mean: under Wind section (for example) the template shows
speed: value
CALM Sunset: value
Daylight: value
Moon: value

Of course CALM shold not be there (maybe moon too, not sure).

Can you check if your alignment is wrong too?

My screen size is 1024x768, so it doesn't quite fit. Could you give me some pointers on how to resize it. I even considered commenting out moon phase and wind direction, and making it a 2 day weather forecast,but I kept breaking the whole forecast script ;)

but I have a problem.
my configuration gives me this problem:
"ERROR: Error reading weather data: Invalid License Key.
ERROR: Location is not in cache. "

Hey, sieht wirklich toll aus, aber ich kriege das weather/conkyforecast Skript einfach nicht zum laufen :/ Ich hab mich registriert, alle Daten so eingegeben wie es in der Anleitung steht (also die Xoap Partner Id und Key sowie die Location GMXX0007 für Berlin) und ich bekomme trotzdem als Fehlermeldung Location GMXX0007 is not in cache, failed to load the location cache.

Wie krieg ichs hin, dass das läuft?

I liked this setup a lot. I have made a few changes of my own.
-Added uptime and battery status
-Merged Processes based on mem-usage and cpu-usage
-separate indication for all cores of CPU
-Added a to-do list
-Added a network module

I modified the files in the .conky folder, and changed own_window_type to desktop.
Now, when I minimize all windows, this remains visible.
This setting also overrides the own_window_hints setting.
I'd recommend removing those and setting own_window_type to desktop upstream.

Even more so, rather than have the same settings in 4 files, I'd put them in one file that's called from the other 4, that way you only need to make modifications to one place.

The image preview has these cool-looking lines that lead to/from the rings to what they mean. I noticed that the package includes the image for these lines with a transparent background, and would really like to know how to integrate them? (They weren't already)

Open fav. wallpaper (in YOUR resolution) with gimp.
Then:
data -> open as layers... -> "lines.png"

Now move this layer in the top left corner.

Love it, almost. I cannot get the weather forecast to work for me. I am in the US, so I am not sure if that changes things. I know I have conkyforecast installed.

I added a network app in the bottom right. I removed the Mail app.

Super Arbeit!Ich habe nur ein Problem:ich möchte conky immer in hintergrund haben, aber wenn ich alles minimize, verschwindet Conky sich auch. Was kann ich machen?

My one complaint is that I can't seem to get it to connect to gmail. From what I've seen while googling this issue, is that I'm not the first one to encounter it.
I'd appreciate it if you could offer a solution.

I would like to know how to change the time to 12 hour format instead of army time.

${voffset 105}${goto 123}${font Santana:size=24:style=Bold}${time %H:%M}

this is the line in /home/me/.Conky/rings file that determines the time but I dont know which letter determines the hour format ("H" is for the 24 hour format) do you know what is used for the 12 hour format?

I changed the "H" to "l" and it changed to the 12 hour format without the preceeding "0" in front of the hour. If "I" is used it leaves the "0" in front of the single digit hour.

I was able to find a web site with all the variables listed so it is really easy to figure out how to configure it all :)

I absolutely love the way my desktop looks now! I've tweaked it a little to make it fit my desktop dimensions but it looks great
