Description:

This is the Acqua window decoration, modified to draw drop-shadows behind the windows, configure rounded corners, and put the application icon in the title bar.
Last changelog:

Lots of changes since the last release:
* Shadows can be drawn behind ALL windows
* Shadows redraw properly (ie. no shadows over kicker)
* Configurable buttons
* Configurable borders
* All l3m's changes (and others)
* Various bug fixes

The next release (out in a few days) will let mouse clicks pass through the shadows - I havn't had time to do that today, but it's pretty easy ;-)

I have this up and running under RH9. Problem is when I try to shade the window, it crashes out. Sometimes I just lose my menus and frame other times everything is gone. Any ideas?

No rule to make target '/usr/lib/kwin.la' needed by 'libkwinaqua-config.la'

but kwin.la in '/usr/lib/kde3/'

why?

I really love this deco. Nice and crisp. Any chance you got a 3.2 ready version lying about yet ?

Keep up the good work.

since suse stores kde in opt and some other things, after successful make install you will still not see the theme in kontrolcenter. this is what you gotta do:

after
./configure
make
make install

copy/move 'aqua.desktop' from
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kwin
to
~/.kde/share/apps/kwin

and copy/move 'libkwinaqua*' from
/usr/local/kde/lib/kde3
to
/opt/kde3/lib/kde3

that should make it work!

Your Mandrake RPM works flawlessly on Redhat, except for this: When installing from command line, you must add the --nodeps to the rpm -i command to get it to install. This ignores dependencies, but it works.

when I try to install the rpm on Mandrake 9.1 I get the error message "libGLcore.so.1" needed. Where do I get it? I understand it is a NVidia file, but I don't have any NVidia card!

Excellent looking window decorations. 2 things:

1) If I minimise a window behind the raised one (with a drop shadow), the image of the minimised window is left behind in the shadow.
2) Have you considered using SSE/MMX to speed up the shadow drawing? Have a look at kdefx/KImageEffect in CVS Head for an example. It's generally about 5+ times faster than pure C++ code. I'll have a go myself if you want.

Dear all,

I compiled and installed the source version of this aqua theme on Linux Mandrake 9.1 with its KDE 3.1.

The compiling went fine. But I cannot see the theme anywhere.

I did:
./configure
make
make install

Then I read that I should have it in the same directory as KDE.

I don't know where my KDE is.

So I tried :
./configure --prefix=/usr
make
make install

It compiled and installed fine.

But I still cannot see the new theme from within KDE.

Where is the theme file?

Kind regards
Stephane

Compiles fine, and works, except:

In large windows the drop shadows are too short! When I make the window smaller, works as intended. Make it larger, the shadows stop at certain point of the window's edge.

I have successfully configured, made and installed Aqua OS K but nothing appears in the Style or Window Decoration parts of the KDE configuration.

Is it because I'm using KDE 3.1?

Hi All,

As many of you I had compilation problems on Debian sid. Finally I pointed out all the packages needed for the compilations:

kdelibs-dev
libqt3-mt-dev
libqt3-compat-headers
kdebase-dev

After installing those packages and running build-devbian.sh, compilation went without problems.
NOTE: I had problems with gcc-2.95, configure script stopped with errors, than I swithced to gcc-3.2 and everything went smooth.

Hope this will help.
