Description:

This is my first icon theme. It is not anywhere near complete, but still manages to blend with other themes nicely. I try to achieve a pseudo-realistic look with vectors only.

If you like these icons (or any of my other work) please consider visiting my homepage and donating a small sum. With all the spare time I spend doing this, my wife is going to throw my computer out the window.

I darkened the folders slightly to make them stand out a bit more. Also I added my new camera icon and took away the block device icon (because it was boring).

v0.3
I fixed the buildset so you don't have to type anything --- it just works. I also added some action icons.

v0.3 sources release
No substantial changes. I just uploaded the .svg files to my Google page. Have fun :)

Hi there,

Nice looking icons. I tried your buildset script under Ubuntu and got the following:
---
scotty@hp:~/LoGloss$ sudo ./buildset
This script builds an installable KDE iconset using bash and convert.
Change what you want, add additional sizes, whatever... :)

Checking for bzip2... found /usr/bin/bzip2
Checking for tar... found /bin/tar
Checking for convert... no.

No convert found in path.

What's missing? I tried installing Ubuntu's "build-essentials" package and trying again, but I got the same error.

WOW! I think these icons are so good, they could integrate very well with the upcoming Oxygen Icon Theme (http://oxygen-icons.org/) that will be the default in KDE4.

I highly encourage you to contact the Oxygen Theme developers and try to work together in order to avoid duplicating work. If all works out well, your icons might appear on every computer that runs KDE!

OK--First off the buildset script is included to help you integrate these with other icons. This is not one you can just drag and drop into kcontrol. Also, running the buildset without supplying other icons (like Cezanne or Crystal) does pretty much nothing. Have hope though, for this is just the beginning. I am still making boat-loads of icons. Soon, it will be a whole set! Until then I shall tease you with these.

So how does one use the buildset shell script properly? It doesn't seem to creat a index.desktop for the theme.

Just run the script---wait a while and it spits out a "LoGloss.tar.bz2" file. Then install using kcontrol -> icons -> install new icons. You can also use this script to splice these in with other icons (I use Cezanne and Vista inspirate for what I call "Melting Pot" icon set). Have fun!

Nice set of Icons, will try these on my machine, hopefully I can just drop the .tar into the Kcontrol icon install to make life easier for myself.

These are really good icons. Will you make more of the same style? The lack of special folder icons, for example, makes integration with other themes a bit less effective.

I think the way the floppy mount/unmount icons differ is a very good idea.

I love the icons, however I'm not able to build an iconset using the supplied script.

I have tried to edit it, but it seems to need a whole lot of editing before it can build one for me, and then I'm kind of expecting others experince the same thing...
