#########################
# THIS IS A DEVELOPER RELEASE !!! #
#########################

KMobileTools is a nice KDE-based application that allows to synchronize and manage mobile phones with your PC. It handles full SMS control, dialing calls, phonebook, and phone status monitoring.

As KDE moved from version 3 to version 4, KMobileTools had started to be ported to Qt4 along with major API changes. A new engine has been written and the GUI redesigned. However, the former developers had to drop the project due to a lack of time and I recently decided to take it over. So, this developer release is also a CALL FOR DEVELOPERS: I won't be able to ensure the complete work, I need support and want to form a new team for development. Coding on KMobileTools is real fun, but I am very busy with my master degree and my coding experience is still not that rich, making KMobileTools evolve (too) slowly.

#################
# PROJECT CESSION !!! #
#################
The project has migrated from the KDE Playground SVN to Gitorious: http://gitorious.org/kmobiletools
I currently have no time anymore to continue hacking on KMobileTools. Feel free to clone the git repo and to submit merge requests for every contribution of yours. Git is now the best mean to share the code and to make contributions easier through the clone/merge system it provides. I remain available for project administration and any insight I could give about the project. From now on, the project is in the hands of the contributors!

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in hacking on KMobileTools. As you can see, most of the work is done, let's finally finish it! The following list is how I would set the priorities: https://gitorious.org/kmobiletools/pages/Home

Simply because ANYTHING of my phone does work with gammu, or gnokii, or something else.
Maybe we'll use gammu, or openobex for some other functions.

Great tools . . there need to be more of these.

A question though: I like your desktop screenshot! What is the font you use in the window titlebars? What is the colour scheme you use? Especially on the buttons . . ..

Nce work.

Hi,
compiled kmobiletools to finally get access to my Sagem cellphone. Everything worked fine. When I start the appl it runs but has no frontend. I can see the task in the process table but that's all.
Starting it in a shell brings ">>>" and a non-printable character and that's it.
What did I wrong? The cellphone Sagen MX 6 is connected to the USB port and I'm using SuSE Linux 9.0 on a x86 platform. I tried everything under KDE 3.3.0.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

KMobileTools is NOT a backend, so it doesn't need a frontend.
The problem is that i'm sending an init string (the unprintable char is the first phase) and i'm waiting for an answer, that doesn't come.
Check if your phone work as a modem, better with a serial terminal (use KPPP one, or minicom). If you've still troubles join the irc channel and check homepage.

Seems a header problem... log and pow are from math.h, and it is a standard header.. check your system please

Added #include to gsm.cpp and everything worked. Maybe your include chain is broken somewhere.
Seems to work quite well with a Siemens C55 + DCA-510 USB Cable.
Thanks!

I just tried it with my T610 over Bluetooth.
QTMT connects OK and dial numbers but
it fails to read the addressbook.

Also, when sending an SMS it stores the
text but leaves it in the SIM update folder and does not send it!

If you join the irc channel we can try to fix it.
The main problem is that AT commands are implemented in many different modes.

Thanks for your app.

I just wonder whether it supports infrared connected GSM phones.

Thanks

Report

RockMan81

Basically yes.
It supports serial connections, and also any connection that can be converted into a serial one, like USB (with usbserial), IRDa, BlueTooth.
However your phone can work only if it has an AT interface.

I never tried it.. but it seems that's very similar to T630, that was tested successfully. Try it putting T630 profile in settings tab.

MMh.. i don't know.. that errors are not specifically from my code, qtmobilewidget.cpp is generate from UI files. check your QT-Designer version (launch `designer` and see the about).
I use 3.3, 3.2 is also supported.. if you've a previous version i think it can be a problem. However look at the project homepage, if you've problems you can find there the irc channel.
