I installed it at a friends machine and installed it with tse3 support. Now everything compiled ok (though I saw some warnings here and there) and it starts up ok, but theres absolutely no sound. While normal midi files do play on his machine.
Any idea what could cause this?

MrGwen Thnx. Since I consider myself still a n00b where Linux is concerned, how should I compile this in order to get sound? I know that with GP4 whenever u put in notes or if u played it back there should be sound. So how do I acomplish this with KGuitar?

Great that this project will be contintued.

I tried to configure the sources with Debian Sid, but I have no chance to activate TSE.

with
./configure --with-midisupport or
./configure --enable-midisupport
I get the following result:

...
checking for meinproc... /usr/bin/meinproc
checking for kpsetool... /usr/bin/kpsetool
checking "for libtse3 library"... "yes \(/usr/lib\)"
checking "for libtse3 includes"... "yes \(/usr/include\)"

*************************************************
* TSE3 found but disabled! *
*************************************************
...

I can compile and install without errors, but midi playback of course don't work.

Any idea what I've done wrong?

It's really great to see you've picked up development of this application, Guitar Pro is one of the tools that keeps me running dualboot, so I'm looking forward to any progress you make!

If you don't want to boot under windows you can use wine with guitar pro :) (it works with gpro 4)

Can you explain how to start Guitar Pro 4 Demo with wine/cedega. I've also tried it but with no success.

Btw Great that someone is maintaining KGuitar ...

Somebody that is developing it further! Great work! Keep it up. Would like to see some rpms for it though in the near future for Mandrake (I myself run a Mandrake based distro PCLinuxOS).
