I changed this in 1.0.1, no? If no, it's a bug. Please report a few more details.

I'm using codeine 1.0.1 from the ArchLinux package (on an up-to date Arch, but that doesn't mean anything).

1. Codeine still crashes when you quit directly from fullscreen.
2. The xine config dialog is broken. I don't know how to explain this, but the information about the config fields is missing.

Buglets:
well, the volume button behaves strangely. Sometimes it has an effect on the volume, sometimes it doesn't.

Also, when the toolbar is at the bottom, the volume slider is obscured because it pops downward. Especially in fullscreen.

One more thing, it would be nice when the volume slider shows, it should also be focued, so that you can control the volume right away with a keyboard.

BTW.
The value in
xine_set_param( m_stream, parameter, value )
when setting the volume (parameter = XINE_PARAM_AUDIO_AMP_LEVEL)

is from 0 to 199 not from 0 to 100, so you'll have to adjust the slider, and also calculate the %.

I changed the two occurences of the max value to 199 and the volume slider works much better.

I have to think a bit about the inversion in the slider update that you do it seems a bit wrong.

It distorts above 120 for most streams. 100 = normal volume.

The volume control is basically unfinished, hopefully I'll get it working right for 1.0.2. Cheers.

Hi,
I've been trying Codeine out, and it's quite nice.

The only thing that thing I can see that's lacking is support for external subtitle files (.srt, .sub/.idx, etc.). If you could add support for those, I think it'd have everything I need.

Note: at the moment, I'm stuck on 1.0 on Dapper (haven't bothered to compile 1.0.1 myself yet), so if such a feature was added, and merely left off the changelog (or if I've somehow missed it entirely), feel free to ignore me.

Otherwise, good work! :)

Hi,
First, thank you for this grate app!

I use latest version and have some problems :
- Video window still judder (well, kind of - video window move down) when tool bar is shown in fullscreen.
- For most of my videos codeine is unable to set correct video ratio. (divx videos for most of them)

If I can help with some output, just let me know :)

Love this application. Does what it should do with no hassle.

I don't see no point using playlists when watching a film once each third year.

Codeine rocks...

files which are present in * system:/media/hdd * are not playable with codeine.

but codeine can play files from media:/hdd

that's strange.

could you please implement system:/ ioslave support.

Report

MxCl

hmm, it's a pity the system slave isn't redirected, I'll add support.

Eventually KIO can be native so I don't have to add support all the time for different slaves.

Especially the media:/ ioslave support is superb.

What I like about codeine:

1. very very responsive movie slider.
2. Playback restore
3. media:/ ioslave support :)
4. codeine icon, that's a nice icon.

thanks! I appreciate your work :)

You can grab a full-featured codeine package for SUSE Linux from the Packman repository:
http://packman-test.links2linux.org/package/codeine

And BTW, although your work is much respected, your comment itself is pretty ridiculous. Either ArchLinux is illegally shipping WMV and other codecs it has not licensed (amongst others, I doubt it has the 60000 EUR to license the MPEG patents, including the fact that macrovision isn't supported on Linux as of now anyway) or people are just not getting the necessary information.
The packman repository has all you need for full-featured media playback on SUSE Linux.

Eh.. wow.. great ;)
Well, anyway, I see you're not interested by the fact that there are RPM packages of codeine for SUSE Linux users, that's a pity.
As the discussion seems to be useless, to say the least, I'd still like to say thank you for your work on your OSS projects.

Keep up the good work.
