Description:

Razor-qt is an advanced, easy-to-use, and fast desktop environment based on Qt technologies. It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and intuitive interface. Unlike desktop environments, Razor-qt also works fine with weak machines.

There are two reasons:
1. When I joined the project it already had this name.
2. If the project will have the name "Razor", then find it in the google it will be impossible.

When I clicked on the menu, a message appeared:
"Menu file not defined"
My distro is Arch. What can I do?

Report

This has been fixed in SVN. If you don't want to build from SVN, you can specify a menu-file by hand.
Change ~/.razor/razor-panel/panel.conf

...
[mainmenu]
type=mainmenu
menu_file=/etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications.menu
...

I do not have such a file, because I do not have KDE

This directory contains the menu files for the various DE. If you not have any installed DE, send me your email and I will send you a set of menu-files.

Are you going to include some default file-manager?
maybe qtfm?

Now we are discussing set of the programs in our mailing list.
If project is alive, we have no plans to include it in our sources repository. But likely, we'll make a metapackage which will install Razor-qt and a set of external programs.

Any package maintainers are welcome.

Yes, it's in our plans. Unfortunately we have many plans, but few workers:)
Right now you can use axkb. http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php/Antico+XKB?content=101667

BZZZZ, wrong! ;)

qxkb is The Choice: http://code.google.com/p/qxkb/

It's much improved and actively maintained next generation of axkb including *many* serious bugs like memory leaks etc.

Packages are already part of QtDesktop repositories.

P.S.: there are many more useful tools there like ptbatterysystemtray, qlipper, etc.

From a root shell add media :
urpmi.addmedia --update 'razorqt' 'http://mrb.mandrivausers.ro/MRB/2010.2/x86_64/MRB-testing/razorqt/' with media_info/hdlist.cz

and install:
urpmi razorqt

IT IS AVAILABLE ONLY FOR MANDRIVA 2010.2 X86_64

( hope it helps )
only for testing purposes ...for now .

On my previous message you have the link , you can take the spec file from src.rpm :
http://mrb.mandrivausers.ro/MRB/2010.2/x86_64/MRB-srpms/razorqt-0.3.0-69mrb2010.2.src.rpm
( just fixed yours .. :D )
but you must know, ( feedback from testing ),
-not listed in kdm or gdm
-eggwm crashes at start

It has to be fixed before a public release, and I really don't have much time ... :(

Report

subik

thanks

that -eggwm crash is caused by eggwm itself - it does not create its own default config on start.

Where are stored madriva's kdm desktop files, please? in suse/fedora it's in /usr/share/xsessions
files/session types should be loaded automatically from there...
