Description:

The hottest clock around!
· Formats not found in any other clock, including custom!
· Disable the separator with a simple check box!
· Option for manual font size!
· Correctly calculated width at any time and date!
· Manual spacing and offsetting!
· Everything on one single line, no more two-liners where you can't read anything!

This clock started when the KDE digital clock would need spacer trickery and set off things badly. It now has become a highly customizable plasmoid that will fit great with any desktop.
Last changelog:

v3.1 9 months ago

- fixes padding not pushing other widgets correctly, resulting in unexpected overlap
- fixes AM/PM label messing with padding additionally

- Spacing option now changes all spaces including outer padding

I already thought about it but it's not aurorae actually. It's a custom Qt theme which I cannot simply upload to opendesktop, sorry ._.

thank you ehhov (ツ ^ω^)づ・~☆・♪ I'm not quite sure myself why this is not part of the default clock, but until then we got this ;)

Sorry, this might be a stupid question. But which calendar is it using? I have my calendar set up with Nextcloud CalDAV, synchronized with KOrganizer. Is it possible to get Better Inline Clock to show my Nextcloud calendar?

Report

Not stupid at all maetthew but I don't really have an answer to this. This is basically the original KDE clock with custom modifications. If there is a possibility you might search how to connect KDE calendar to nextcloud and then KDE might just pull everything in. I can't point you further than this though. Sorry.

there is one thing that can be better, and thats the events list. sometimes events from an .ical has a lot of extra information, like links to various things, where to buy tickets etc, which makes everything very cluttered. there should be an option to strip those out. event calendar has that option, you can untick 'show event desctiption' or something like that. im hoping you can implement that in better inline clock as well. thanks !

10 I like this better because allows me to adjust the ridiculous sized font of the default digital clock. However there is a minor glitch in the widgets selection it has no image. just a null red circle. thanks!

7 Honestly, I'm not sure what makes this "better" than the standard KDE clock.

Also note that the KDE design group knows and observes the communities mods and occasionally implements/merges things into the original widgets. So I wouldn't really know if some of my custom options made it into the official widget. Let me know!

Additional time formats and even custom formatting, the option to space out the date and time (great for panel use), custom offset settings, custom font size settings not to mention the date on the same line(!), hence "better inline" clock. Just to name a few. I encourage you to play around with all the custom options provided that are NOT included in the standard KDE clock and maybe get hooked ;)

Dummie issue: I installed the widget... and... what next? Where to set it up? No menus whatsoever... What is wrong? :|

Hello Jean, you're being very unspecific. If you "installed" it it should simply be available as a "widget". This is a KDE5 Plasma desktop widget. Where are you looking for it? Most people will "add" this widget to a "panel". Or some even to the desktop by choosing "add widget" from the context menu.

Hello Marian! I was just very unfamiliar with widgets. I succeed to install/add it from the repository, THEN I didn't know what to do: you have to edit the from the widget menu/store. All this makes sense for a geek, not for me! :D Then I stuggle to erase the official clock... Was quite easy though... You should do a tutorial for brain-dead IQ like me! :D

I can't change the timezone without changing the system timezone, which isn't what I want. In my case, II need to add an alternate clock to keep track of other time zones.
