On your binary-download-site the links to the SuSE-rpms seem broken.

I tried setting the specified compiler flags as you suggested, and while this did seem to create a slight improvement, it is still too slow to be used (particularly while an icon should be bouncing). My hardware isn't by any means weak (P4 2.1Ghz 640MB RAM and a GeForce4) but I still cannot get performance that would make this useable. If i am the only one still experiancing, I am willing to help you debug in any way I can, if not, I will continue to build every release hoping for improvment.
Thank You for your hard work and your fantastic application.

Where can I download the image for longhorn clock face shown in one of the screenshots on your site?
Also, i have changed the clock face to an aqua one ... but how do you change the clock hands? I still get the thick black and red ones.
Great project and good progress!
Thanks.

this is going to be exactly what i'm looking for
0.15 works great on SuSE 9.0 with kde 3.2.2, even with gcc3.3.2...no problem!
i also had a look at your configurator- preview!
there is (going to be) a funktion to put kxdocker on the top or right/left side
plz make this thing work!
yours would be the only docker i know witch can change position, and i want to keep my kde-taskbar on the bottom (because of the tray-icons...i need them!)
is there a way to configure that manually till the configurator works..?
thanks for your work!
greets!

(1) I tried it, but I simply can not change the docker size to eg. 64. When I change the theme-png's Kxdocker simply ignores them and a SIZE attribute does not seem to exist in the config XML.
(2) Additionally I can not distinguish between icons that refer to an opened app or a command. Ok, there is that tiny arrow, but it seems that the task manager icons appear somewhere between the command icons - I expected a kind of separation. Also I have the problem that Kxdocker doesn't recognize multiple applications, eg. if I opened multiple windows of KIconEdit only one is shown in the taskbar. Once you fixed this, I like to ask you to implement 'task grouping' and 'show only apps on this desktop', configurable on/off each.
Ok, what I write here, is a bit unfair. I was looking for a task manager that looks well and got a tool that promised a lot - new features with each release, but all these features are only half implemented. For a start, Kxdocker looks great to me, however, but I will stay with kicker until Kxdocker is matured. And that may take a long time.
Best regards

If you can't compile with gcc 3.3.2 ('internal compiler error' or something like this) check your version with parameter '--version', you have to upgrade to gcc 3.3.3 to get it work. It seems to be a Suse gcc 3.3.2 distribuition problem.

For me it's ok, the only problem is that it's too memory-consuming.
After load it eats 37MB of RAM... I don't know how to reduce the amount of memory needed from this software.

I know, this all sounds like negative criticism, but I think every good app has its weak points. You're on the right track though.
good job.

Here are more things :
Provide some sort of README and INSTALL file: A lack of a README file leaves the user hanging. I know this is open source, but one of the most important things about software programming is taking the users into account. Here you have left "clues" for us as to what to do.
Make your generic xml file, generic. You have hardcoded references to your own icon directories, which does not help me much. Isn't there a default directory you could use. Maybe, ~/.kde/share/icons or something.
Provide some instructions about the theme files you've included. I tried to modify the XML file, but without proper documentation I could only guess as to what each of the fields actually stood for.
I realize, the author of the program says he will not be reading the comments from the site and he'd rather read emails, but I thought other people might find this useful.
cheers

It's really nice so far though, not quite useable for me but it's getting there very quickly. Keep up the good work! Maybe they will put this in KDE 3.3, I hope.
