There are no install instructions here. Also when I click the install instructions at the bottom of this page it gives me KDE3 install instructions. I've googled kde 4 theme install instructions and could not find any. I found the themes folder and extraced this .zip file there but still the theme does not show. I tried to browse to the theme file but it does not show as an installable theme. Please advise.

please read some comments before. There you will find instructions.
Otherwise it's not my fault that there aren't any instructions of installing plasma themes on this site.
Exuse me, but i think the webmasters of this site will solve this missing thing in the near future.

Thank you painkiller 101. Yes it seems that KDE 4.0 does not support installing plasma themes by default. I jumped onto IRC and managed to get some help and to get the theme installed into KDE 4.0.4. It's a hack to do and I suggest others wait for KDE 4.1 to be released. Glassified looks great though! I like it more than the default theme. Thank you. Here is a screenshot:

I understand the black area underneath the systray icons is a KDE issue and not necessarily a bug with the theme. Otherwise it works very well.

Nice to hear that you succeeded.
Like you can see on this screenshot this theme is primarily designed for KDE4.1. Some thing aren't rendered correctly and don't look that good with kde 4.0.x.
So wait for kde4.1 and everything will be alright.

The battery plasmoid is pretty ugly. Make the blue less bright and put less gloss on top of it. Other than that, the theme is great :)

nevermind painkiller10 1, i enabled desktop effects but switched the renderer from opengl to xrender and now all my problems are solved. (including poor performance & the issues with gtk apps).

thanks for uploading that background.svg file without the shadow painkiller10 1. but unfortunately, that didn't fix the "issue". apparently that isn't a shadow. what else could it be?

btw, as i said before, i'm on kde 4.0.4.

Hi!
First of all, I love your theme! It's really nice and pleasant, good job.
Now, I'm using the Trash applet on my KDE 4.1 (trunk) desktop and the background is all dark. I don't even know if this widget is themeable, but it would be great if you could look into it.

Hello and thanks for your comment!

I this theme (like in all other themes) there is a file called 'iconbutton.svg' which should design the background of icons. But i suspect that this is for now not really themable. The only way to change it is to set the font color to black, because the background turns then into white.
I hope this problem will be fixed soon.
Until then we have to live with this situation.

i only have one more issue with this theme. i have an "ugly" (only cuz it seems out-of-place/like it shouldn't be there) black "border" for lack of a better term above my panel. i'm using kde 4.0.4 w/ qt 4.4 & version 0.9.4 of this theme. (but it has always been this way).

Hello,

like i can see on the screenshot your theme you doesn't have a transparent panel, does it?
If this is so the normal, not opaque, background has a small shadow above which is painted black when transparency is missing.
For me it's looking like on my 2nd screenshot.
Maybe you don't have activated desktop effects or it's because you are using another kde4 version (I'm using kde4.1 beta).

ah, thanks for explaining it. you're right, enabling desktop effects did "fix' the issue. but now i remember the main reason why disabled desktop effects: they don't work well with gtk applications. (at least in kubuntu/KDE 4.0.4). with gtk applications & desktop effects enabled window management is impossible. (even with all the window management effects enabled or disabled). maybe kde 4.1 will fix this problem.

in the time being, is there a way i can "remove" this shadow? can you tell me which file needs to be edited?

Hello!

Removing the shadow isn't really possible, because the panel-background exists out of embedded images inside the svg-file.
But if you doesn't use desktop effects, you can copy the 'panel-background.svg' inside 'opaque/widgets' to 'widgets' and overwrite the other one. This file doesn't have a shadow but isn't transparent.

Try it out if you want.

To hear that i'm not the only one who likes this theme gives a good feeling.

To remove existing glitches it would be nice if you could tell me them or give a feedback of full functionality.

Oh and another thing:
Does anybody have the same problem that XRENDER renders the theme correctly and OPENGL not? With OPENGL the panel f.e. is darker than it should and XRENDER does.

Can someone confirm this?

Excuse me for my noviceness but how do you install this theme? I extracted and there is no readme or the like. Your instructions next to the download say to compile or install rpm but neither of these ways exist for this package. I go into look and feel and select theme manager and browse for the zip file and the extracted files but it does not see them as theme files. How do you install this theme?
