try to install the package p7zip ! Besides that, the Package also includes the Humanity icon-theme from Karmic for the better appearance. it's better to decompress the files and then moving the folders to the right directorys. the folder in Gtk-Theme you should extract to /home/????/.themes/ and the folder in icon-theme you should extract to /home/????/.icons/ - Oct 14 2010

I am using maverick, but i think that the murrine engine in lucid is older. Try to install murrine-git via the terminal or use a launchpad package. If it does not work anyway, then reinstall your deafault murrine engine and wait for an update on my theme where i have removed the uninteropable options.

But i find time hardly now. - Oct 14 2010

Firstly the rating downs: I dont know where they come from, but I think the reason are some bugs with nautilus especially the scrollbars.

Concerning your particular problem. I will create a nautilus-elementary cofig file, as soon as I finished the nautilus scrollbar bug and found some time.

I released it because the nautilus scrollbar bug isnt that bad, but I did not came to the idea to try it with nautilus elementary.

Thanks a lot for your comment. I haven't read such an positive comment for a long time.

Anyway, I have to thank Canonical for such a perfect base. Many accents and styles wouldn't have found their way into the theme, if the Canonical Design Team wouldn't have programmed it such perfectly. - Oct 11 2010

I suggest, that you use the png from a real cursor theme instead of the png's with a number. - Jul 31 2010

If you have a download link, I will try it.

Besides that, I have used the Font "Fontin" as it looks like the font which is used in the PS3 game Uncharted 2. I always had its concept art in mind when creating this theme. - Jul 20 2010

1. I don't understand how this happens ! Applications is readable, but Places and System not. Maybe the panels transparency configuration is the reason.

2. Do you mean the bottom line of the metacity-theme? If it's so, I have fixed it!

3. I didn't understand what exactly you have been talking about, so I changed the nautilus-sidebar to the background color.

I hope the current update (19 July 2010) is to your liking! - Jul 19 2010

I think you really like my artwork, ;-)

Btw. disgusting colors depend on the wallpaper, which is used. E.g. the elementary gtk: I am of the opinion that it only looks good, if a blue, minimalistic wallpaper is used, if not it looks disgusting.

Furthermore, the colors fit very well for the Rusty style. - Jun 11 2010

Which ubuntu, I have lucid 10.04 and I haven't used any different engine than the default installed.

However, It requires Murrine-Git Gtk-engine. There is no metacity-Theme, but an emerald -Theme, so install emerald. Icons are called Cylon - but I changed the Theme, to make the panel narrow. The theme can be selected in the gnome-settings-dialogue. If it still does not work, you have to search for the reason - On my machine everything works fine, so its just about you, why it does not work. - Jun 08 2010

Thanks for your suggestion, but instead of the elementary-mod location bar, I thought it would look much better, if the buttons are as less visible as possible.

If you follow the download link you should get to deviantart.com, where another download link is. There you can download the zip. then you open your file-roller as root and you extract the folder Candy_Spring to /usr/share/themes/ This is the system-wide system folder. Now you are able to select the Theme with your gnome-settings-dialogue. I hope it helps. Unfortunately the gnome-settings-dialogue only accepts tar.gz's for theme installations - and then the themes aren't available for synaptic and other root-gui-programms. - May 26 2010

The theme should look like Candy, sweet colorful, smooth and sometimes glossy. It wasn't intended to be cool in any way - it should look a little bit childish.

What a surprise - I dont like the Aurora and Clearlooks engine - I prefer Murrine, but maybe you cant see it on the screenshot, but I have used options, which are not available for the other engines e.g. the 2 color progressbar and the GTKEntry gradient.

I hope you are not angry, but it is impossible to port the Theme without losing the characteristics of it. - Mar 29 2010

I made the theme with ubuntu 10.04 beta and there the murrine-engine git version is already installed. You can find a prebuilt package here:

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Murrine+engine+SVN+Debian+package?content=122141

I very much hope, that this helped. I cannot understand why compiling does not worked.

Another possibility may be, that the gtkrc Theme File is corrupt. I hope it is not so, but if you want to check it, do this:

> select the Theme in the gnome-appearance dialog

> open the terminal

> start any programm, which uses gtk, e.g gedit

> the terminal tells, where the gtkrc has an error

> now you can correct it

However, I am pretty sure, that the file, I have uploaded here, is not corrupt.

If the reason for a not working theme is the gtkrc file - just tell me, I will correct it. - Mar 28 2010

I understand that there are some people, which don't like to see porn on the internet, because children may see them, but, honestly, these are beautiful pictures (and not dirty porn) and you will find similars in each catalogue for clothes.

Therefore I don't understand your aggressive reaction. Especially, because you have only logged in to comment pictures, which have skin. I have the impression, that you would make the same post, if you can only see her face, because you can see her skin.

Furthermore it seems, that you don't have thought about the reason, why I have chosen the file-name "attract attention" in the screenshot of Paysages. It should be a mirror, who tells:

"Hey guy, you have only clicked on this submission, because you have seen a gril. You should also have a look on other submissions, which don't contain girls in the screenshot."

Moreover you should follow this link:

http://lassekongo83.deviantart.com/

Although, each submission shows skin, they have been rated very well, because they aren't garbage.

I suggest, you shouldn't try to eliminate pictures of girls on the internet, because you will fail considerably - moreover, because you also can find boys.

By the way, guys, who refer to Jesus, make me laugh, cause they havent found a reasonable argument against such pictures. - Feb 06 2010

Human 2 Murrine

GTK2 Themes by AresRog 3 comments

It wasn't really an idea. I am of the opinion, that an ubuntu default theme, has to use as less pixmaps as possible and therefore it needs to be drawn by an engine. Therefore murrine is useful.

Sunny Human

GTK2 Themes by fheinsen 2 comments

Hi,

I also had the idea to use the Human gtk-Theme together with the Ubuntu sun Metacitys, but I have added some improvements to it. Firstly you should add the following line to the Human gtkrc:

GtkMenuBar::shadow_type = GTK_SHADOW_NONE

Then, you should add these lines in a seperate section of the gtkrc:

style "murrine-toolbar" = "murrine-default"
{
engine "murrine"
{
contrast = 0.0
highlight_shade = 1.0
glow_shade = 1.0
gradient_shades = {1.0,0.95,0.949,0.9}
}
}

Then, you should search for the term "class "GtkToolbar"", which should end with "style "murrine-toolbar""

and then I suggest to set the highlight_shade to 1.1 and the lightborder_shade to 1.05 of the murrine-engine settings.

This edits will give a more sunny look to the theme and looks perfect with Sun Theme.

Just ask, if you need further instructions howto do this.

Sorry, I have forgotten something.

Please remove the effects of the toolbar and menubar.

Managing this, you have to add to the lines "GtkMenubar::shadow-type" and "GtkToolbar::shadow-type" the term " = GTK_SHADOW_NONE" instead of the number.

And you have to remove these lines:

#Toolbar
