Thank you for the positive feedback!

As for the menu I suppose you are talking
about the "Applications-Places-System"
menubar? If so , then it should be default
in gnome?

If you mean the icon next to the applications
menu is a gnome foot then that icon is
controlled by the icon set you use :)
has nothing to do with the theme.

hope this helps!

Thank you very much for your kind words
about liking my theme as much as being default!!!!

As for awn, could you provide me with a
screenshot showing the bug/feature request
as I don't use awn myself I don't experience
those problems :)

Thanks!

Thank you very much for voting!

As for the patched themes, I'm sure someone
somewhere has done something similar,
it's quite impossible to creat something
totally new these days :)

I have however created everything in this
theme (except for the parts that use the
crux engine ofc) myself and I didn't take
much inspiration from other themes, most
inspiration for this theme comes from when
I installed the black-white iconset made
by Daniel Grimm.

Thanks!

Slickness Black

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

It's not supposed to give any output
in the terminal (if you don't get any kind
of error then it's working).

As for this not showing up in emerald
it's because this is a gtk theme, not
emerald :)

To get emerald theme, go here :

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

Just click in emerald theme manager :
import and scroll to the SlicknesS.emerald file.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your interest in my theme!! :D

Yeah, those install instructions are a bit wrong....
I thought I had them corrected butobviously
not... the only thing you have to do is split
the command to two commands, so they are

sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

and then

sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg

hope this helps!

BUT! it's still beta, so I'm not gonna spend a lot
of time trying to fix that, Since it's a bug in firefox
and not the theme :)

(firefox doesn't obey gtkrc but userChrome.css
and now that don't even work so I have no clue...)

As for the menues, you are right, it's just that

effect on the menues and they look better with
that now than they did before.... I will improve them
to look better without transparency to next release!

That is caused by the same bug, I have a fix for it

(that the button next to textentry kinda integrates with the entry), I can upload a new version

Well, of course you can ask :D ,there is one problem tho,

I don't have any idea on how to port this theme to

and emerald , you can dload the emerald theme :)

get it here:

Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure what you mean with too much grey,
since I have made it more "whiter" in later releases.

I know I have changed a lot in this theme since
I posted it here, I'm finally starting to get pretty
comfortable with it now :) (not too many bugs and
I'm pretty happy with the contrasts of the graphics).

What exactly do you mean is too grey?

Thanks for commenting!

Thanks!! :D

First, I think your icon theme is something
revolutionary!! I think you started something new
with making that (really slick and just black and white) icon theme!
I think that's where I got the Idea to make an
black white theme....

As for the range, sure, I try to figure something else
out (wasn't really happy with those anyway),
if by stock icons you mean the icons on buttons?
If so then "it's not a bug, it's a feature", to enable
the button images just run in terminal:

sudo gedit /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

and on line 14:
gtk-button-images = 0

change that to

gtk-button-images = 1

save and re-apply the theme :)

Thank you very much all of you for your kind comments!! :)

Very appreciated!

The iconset is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

as for the transparency effect you see in the
screenshot, it is the "major" change to this version,
also , in the screenshot I have the alpha blur effect
activated.

Thanks for suggesting different gradient, tho
I must say that that is the one thing I have been
able to be kinda happy with for more than a day
or so :)

It is not meant to be 3-dimensional, for this hole
slickness project I have is to make a black and
white clear but still kinda "slick" environment
to work in :)

My next theme might be more 3 dimensional tho,
At the moment my d**n laptop (which I absolutely
love to work on) is f***ed (It wont recognize the
d**n power cable) , honestly , next time I will
buy me a macbook (when I have the money :D)!!!
