have pixmap aka pixbuf engine installed....

haven't heard anyone else have that problem :)

hehe, could be they are compressed 2 times
so first extract the folder inside the archive
then if it's another archive, extract it to
/usr/share/icons (do this as root)

as for the transparency I use compiz-fusion
window manager.

:D

Well thank you again man!!!

I don't really know what to say :D

I'm very happy that you like my work!!!

well.. the icon theme I use is this one:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

it changes the jinjan icon aswell :D

as for the gnome-button it is the main menu and not
the show desktop icon (I have re-arranged the panels quite a bit)

I included it in the package, it's located in the
/gtk-2.0/panel folder named menu something
(I don't remember exactly how I named it)

the playback control in upper panel is for audacious
(based on xmms) and those are just normal png
icons I have associated with commands (launchers)
for example the play button when clicked executes
the command audacious --play and so on....

If you have more questions you know how to
contact me :)

Thanks a lot!!

Yeah in the next release I will have better
scrollbars in this theme, or at least try
to do better ones :)

Maybe something in style with the ones
I have in the slickness theme....

Thanks for pointing it out(makes me do new
scrollbars faster :D)

Thank you!

darkfix should fix the firefox problem...
I can check it out.

You are the first to have the volume applet
problem (as far as I know) , it has always
worked fine for me (I don't see how that
could be related to the theme), could you
try to re-add the applet to the panel and
see if problem is still there?

btw, what distro are you using?

Thank you for the feeback!

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

Hi!

yes that helps!

The problem is that you are running
XFCE and not gnome, xfce uses another
window manager than gnome (not metacity)
I'm not sure exactly which one but the
theme here is for metacity (and then there
is the emerald one for those who use compiz)

I'm sorry to say but I have no clue on
how to port the border theme to xfce (
I would do that if I knew how to)
if someone knows how to do it and it's not
too much work then that would be great!

//Robert - Feb 21 2008

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

Are you syre you are using metacity
window manager?

I haven't heard anyone else have any
problems with the border theme...

if you use compiz you could install emerald
and dload this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

could you describe a little more what the
problem is since I cannot fix the problem
if I don't really know what it is :) ?

the icon theme is this one :

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

for transparency I use compiz-fusion window
manager, just enable it and move the mousepointer
over the panel and hold down alt and then scroll.

If you don't have compiz fusion then get it here:

yeah, that's a pain when fonts are unreadable,

I will try to fix it, but I can't promise

clue on how to port it to xfce...
...however if you use compiz you can install
emerald and dload the slickness emerald
theme, get it here:

Well thank you!

Vista one? this theme is nowhere near what
vista is... maybe the panel a little but
every dark panel looks like the vista one.

Now that you mention it I see that the buttons
are best positioned when panel is at bottom
(well, I have always has the tasklist at
the bottom since it is the most natural there,I know many people use dock, but I
don't really like docks, I have tried many
different docks but I still prefer gnome
panel)

If you by the window layout mean that weird pattern I used for the newest
version then yeah, it's weird and it wasn't
actually ment to be there :D (just something
I tried out and forgot to remove)

The titlebar text is white on active windows
and greyish on inactive windows (so that you can easily see
which ones are active and which ones
are inactive (no font is black on titlebar that I know of)

About submenues, if you mean the ones
that are named "GtkCombo" in the widget factory
then yes, they are ugly and all black
but I haven't yet used an app that actually
used those, where are those used? I read
somewhere that they are old and not used
anymore, is this incorrect?

Anyway, I want to give you a huge thanks
for taking the time and writing an absolutely
amazing comment on my work!
I also want to thank for your kind words
on the stuff you liked in the theme :)

All the best!

Thank you!

I have been trying and meaning to implement
that function in this theme too... it's just
that I use a few workarounds to rid some
really nasty bugs,so as it is now I see
no solution in fixing those bugs another
way so I could implement that function.

It was easier in slickness black cause
there I don't need similar bugfixes because
the hole thing is black :D

If I find a way to rid the bugs another
way I will implement the colorscheme
support, however , it looks like that's
never gonna happen right now :(

Thanks for the feedback!

to get bigger menu icons:

gedit $HOME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

or if you followed my install instructions:

sudo gedit /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

and on line 12 gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=16,16" change to
gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=22,22"

or whatever size you wish :)
then save, log out and in and you are done :)

btw ,this will make the icons enter the
"dark" area of the menu.

hope this helps

Thank you!

hmm, it all depends on if you have the
previous version install file...
I just checked my hard drive and I don't
have the previous scrolls saved anywhere :(

If you have the previous install file, then
just extract the scrollbar folder from it
(/gtk-2.0/scrollbars) and overwrite the
one in the themes folder
$HOME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/scrollbars

that should do the trick :)

hope this helps

//Robert - Feb 12 2008

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 522 comments

hmmm, if you have the older tar still
then you could just overwrite the scrollbars folder with the one from the file,
it should work.

$HOME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/scrollbars

that is the folder to overwrite

hope this helps :)

thanks for the feedback!

I have a fix for it now....
not sure if this f***s up something else
since I just figured it out.

but if you have a style called "menu" or something....

style "menu" = "default"
#and then add this line there
text[NORMAL] = "#000000"
#remove any other text[NORMAL] first

#and then you should have something
#like this at the end of the gtkrc
class "GtkMenu" style "menu"
widget_class"*Menu*" style "menu"

Hope this helps.
