None, I just ported the theme to emerald,

new features.

Tell me what features you want and I try to
add them :)

I made the menu icon myself, I included it
in the slickness black package :)
Get it here :

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Slickness+Black?content=73210

it's located at:

/home/USERNAME/.themes/SlicknesS(black)/gtk-2.0/panel/

in that folder are two other menu icons too,
I don't remember exactly how I named it but
yu'll find it :D

Thank you for your kind words someguydude!!
And craigyjack also!

I have now created a emerald version, I just
uploaded it here.
I think for the next version
of this theme I include a possibility of having
a different menubar so that it plays nicer
with emerald themes :)

However I think the menubar/titlebar is
what gives this theme a little bit of
personality so I will probably not remove
it totally thou :)

Thanks for the idea!

I like this wallpaper, I like it a LOT!

This time I like the dark-alien-ice-matrix
atmosphere! I don't know how you did it but
this rocks!!

Needless to say but I voted it good.

I really thank you guys for your lovely comments!!

highly appreciated! :D

As for the insensitive text, you are right,
I will change that color to next release.
(I don't know how to remove the shadow completely)

I will try to fix the firefox input boxes,
but that happens because firefox is not a
gtk app. Firefox 3 will integrate to gnome
desktop better (I tried it the other day,
no problems with fonts there) ,but I will
try to find a workaround for the problem.
Be sure to have unchecked the box "use system colors"
as I mentioned in the description.

btw, I am not happy with the new scrollbar
sliders , so I probably improve/change
them to next release :) I am glad
that you like the new style on them :D

I voted this good for being creative and
not trying to mimic something else, I'm all
with you that linux does not need to look like
vista or osx, and it's pretty much proven
already that it can if it wants to.

I think we insted should focus on trying
to create something that is even more
beatiful (yeah, vista and osx are both
extremely beatiful) ,that ain't easy but
this, is a step in the right direction!!

I especially like the tabs!

Keep up the good work!

//Robert - Jan 18 2008

Thanks!!

As for the panel if you have installed my theme
it should look like in the screenshot.
I have made bottom panel 32px high(right click on panel
and choose properties and in size inputbox
type 32 and press enter) , as for the window
borders , click customize in theme manager
and go to borders and select slickness black.

Also , if the buttons look funny then you should
check that you have pixmap engine installed.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have
other problems :)

//Robert - Jan 17 2008
no no, sry for not understanding you not
already use it :D

I just dragged the mouse over the panel and
hold in alt and scrolled on the scrollbutton
on the mouse :) ,same for windows.

//Robert - Jan 17 2008
Thanks!

I use a window manager called "compiz-fusion"
to draw the screen so I get all kinds of
crazy effects (including transparency).

get it here:

Thank you guys !

Both those themes are extremely beatiful and well done!

However I don't use compiz all the time
and therefor can not use emerald all the
time, and I prefer to have the same look
with and without compiz :)

I tried to make slickness theme to have
integrated titlebar and menubar (I like it
like that).

I have been meaning to port my slickness
metacity theme to emerald also, I just
don't know how to and I really don't use
emerald that often.

If someone knows a fast and easy way to
port it to emerald and is willing to do
so I'd be very very grateful!!

and btw, cool spanish saying :D

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

Yes I am aware of that :(
It happens because firefox is not a gtk app
and therefor does not obey gtk...
I really don't know how to explain this
but it is a problem with firefox and not
with the theme, If however someone has discovered
a workaround I'd be more than happy to
hear from him :)

very sorry!

P.S. browsers like epiphany and galeon
doensn't have this problem , if you want
, you can try them out!
(they both build on the mozilla engine
so they are just as fast as firefox)

Thanks again for your kind words coagen!!

things you wanted coagen!

As for address bar:
If you want more contrasting colors in input boxes (ie address bars)
just select so in the gnome theme manager :)
just click customize theme and go to colors.

Hope this helps!

Thank you guys for your constructive feedback!!!

the wallpaper is this one:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Balls?content=73370

I fixed the colorscheme so that you can choose
colors yourself in gnome-theme-manager,
so if it isn't dark enough just choose an
even darker color yourself from there :)

Best regards

It seems to load the menu highlight pixmap
both to progressbar and progressbar backgroung (both are kinda white) so I tried to make it have darker borders so it
will easier be spotted how much strength.

Let me know if it helps even a little bit :)

SlicknesS

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 522 comments

Hmm, If I change that, it will change in many other places also...

But I'm thinking about making some colored
versions some time of this theme, (since I've been asked to)

However , if you want to change it yourself do the following:

type in terminal

(if you installed with theme manager)

gedit $HOME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

scroll down to line 65 where it says:

base[SELECTED] = "#3d3d3d"

and change it to:

base[SELECTED] = "#5DBAE5"

and save... then reload the theme or restart x or log out and in....

that changes some other effects to that color also.

Anyway, you can give it a try!
