I doubt it, mate...

And, honestly, I really get sick of the 1000 pictures that get posted here every day that infringe patents and simply sport a bloody ubuntu logo pasted on some picture stolen from elsewhere. It is annoying, uncreative and should be banned imho. - Dec 13 2006

I am still working on rounded corners. I tried it already but the border was somehow hardly visible at the edges if one window was atop another (I got an almost white-colored border on the edges, sadly). Maybe I will find a nice solution for that problem. If I find one, then I will add a rounded version to the package. :) - Sep 23 2006

Sorry, but this is NOT GPL'd. The pictures of National Geographic are proprietary and redistribution of those pictures is not allowed without approval from NG and/or the photographer who owns the rights on those pics. Please don't post illegal things here (this also applies to many other users, not only you!). I don't want to see the site going down one day because of license infringements. :( - Sep 17 2006

Agreed, some things should be improved here and there. I am already working on fixing the 1 px outline that was broken on a few icons. I already tried the non-flat perspective from the guidelines for the radio, but ... it looks simply bad in the stretched perspective mode. :(

About different icon sizes: This will follow later, once all basic svg files are done. I will not add them before the svg files are 100% correct and complete (otherwise I would have to export them over and over again!) The necessary file information will also follow later. This is a work in progress ( Remember: I am far away from the 1.0 version!) and Rome wasn't built in one day either, ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. - Aug 05 2006
I try to follow the guidelines as much as I can, but some things simply don't work with the default guidelines imho, which is where I use my own "artistic inspiration". It is not an official Tango addon, never was thought as such. If you don't like it, don't use it. This is why it is available as a separate download. ;)

If you examine this and the other icons, you will see that all colours are from the Tango palette. - Aug 05 2006

A graphic-design made with several shades of blue by a person with some piece of software and some nice ideas. :P

Okay, on a more serious note: What you see is only a part of a wallpaper that I found months ago somewhere on the web. It was made for a Mac, but I really don't remember where I found it, nor who made it (maybe deviantart?... dunno). If I would remember it, I would post a link to it. - Jun 22 2006

Think about it... e.g. in order to make the transition from Windows to Linux easier for some people?

And then there are (for whatever reason) users who like the Windows look. Just take a look at the Vista theme rip-offs here. They got a very high rating by Linux users. ;)

Don't want to be a party-pooper, but I doubt that your two postings are legal. Did you shoot the pictures? Did you ask for permission to redistribute them? Did you ask about the license? I bet you did not. In this case, the submission is illegal. Remember that there is/was a checkbox with which you guarantee that your submission is legal. Please respect the rules.

Does anyone in here care about licenses? It seems as if people simply don't want to care and love to break licenses, thus giving Linux users the "image" of "crackers" and the like... :( - Feb 18 2006

what makes me think it looks like plastik? the buttons e.g. and now, the windeco reminds me more of win-xp. i am not saying that plastik is a bad style (it is actually the best one for kde imho), but somehow, the 0.3 version was better FOR ME. - Mar 20 2005
hehehe... the funny thing is that before it WAS unique imho. i do respect your opinion and you are doing a good job at making this theme bug-free, easy to use and easy on the eyes. i am only a bit afraid that it develops into a plastik-clone, which would be a pity because there is already a plastik-like style. this comment is not meant as some way to negatively critizise your hard work. just a reminder, not to let yourself draw away into a design we already have. after all, it is about choice, right? ;) - Mar 20 2005
oops sorry... i thought it was a rework of the gtk-theme... shame on me...
but the critics remain for the gtk-theme. - Mar 20 2005
there are constant changes in this theme, some for the better, some for the worse. well, it does look very nice but i am wondering if with all these changes, it somehow develops into a plastik or winxp-theme clone. it is becoming less and less original imho. the previous versions (0.1-0.4) were more unique imho. - Mar 20 2005

hmm.. i read the fix but the lines you mentioned are not included my gtkrc-file. :P

or am i blind? - Feb 17 2005
i have thought about this problem the whole day and yes, the rounded versus sharp edge of the buttons will cause trouble. I have tried with including the background image into the button but the spacing needed new adjusting then and furthermore, i didn't really get the same effect. the only solution would be to replace the rounded corners with sharp 90° corners or does anyone have a phenomenal idea how this little problem could be solved? maybe i am thinking too complex on an easy thing... : ( - Feb 17 2005
ouch... i must admit that i have not thought of this problem. maybe i can find a way to fix that, but as it is my first major theme for gnome, i cannot assure you that i can add all that you would like to see included. i will give it a try nonetheless. : ) - Feb 16 2005
