KDE 4 Splashscreens by Paladin-MMX 38 comments

Good Question ;). I've now tested a few and the "normal" ones with the 5-Icon Animation work fine, but some others for example the Anonymous Splash (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Anonymous+Splash?content=150882) got the some problem. So I guess it's a problem of the Ksplash Engine and I've got to fill out a bug at bugs.kde.org :).

Best Regards

Axel

Hello,

nice Splash Screen. But it looks a little bit strange on a Dual-Screen Configuration. The Animations are on the right, the static Picture on the left screen. Is it a Problem with my NVDIA Card or is it a common problem on Dual Screens?

Best regards

X.org Setup

System Software by darkstarlinuxro 48 comments

Hello everybody !

On an Opensuse 10.2 I was -nearly complete- able to compile this application if I use the following commands:

export CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=$QTDIR/include:$CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 --enable-new-ldflags CPPFLAGS='-I /opt/kde3/include -I /usr/lib64/qt3/include'

The only thing that still stops with an error is src/lib/xorgprobe with this error:

/usr/include/X11/extensions/Xrandr.h:88: error: 'Connection' does not name a type
/usr/include/X11/extensions/Xrandr.h:251: error: 'Connection' does not name a type

Missing Includes ? Any Ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Crystal

KDE 3.x Window Decorations by dralgebra 541 comments

First of all: I'm not a programmer. So if the following change is complete nonsens, just ignore me ;o).

Problem:
When I try to compile Crystal on an AMD64 I get the following Error-Messages:
crystalclient.cc:1290: error: cast from 'CrystalClient*' to 'int' loses precision
crystalclient.cc:1293: error: cast from 'CrystalClient*' to 'int' loses precision

After using Google to find out, what the problem is, I changed in both lines (1290 and 1293 of CrystalClient.cc) the "(int)" to "(long)".
Now it compiles and it even works ;o). And -of course- it looks great.

Cheers

First of all: really great screensaver (as far as I can see from the screenshots ;o)).

But I'm not able to compile it under Suse10/kde3.5-Beta2 on an AMD64.

The error-message when compiling is:

Maybe you have a little hint for me.
Many thanks

change your configure line to:
./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` --disable-debug --enable-final

The brackets around "--enable-final" just meant that this option is optional. - Jul 18 2004
