You should be able to add keywords from the context menu: right click on a file and go to "Actions > Lexeo - Edit Keywords". You should see a dialog where you can define your keywords (with the "Add Keyword" button) and assign them to your file(s). - Aug 31 2005

A poll is available on the website. Question is:

Double-clicking on an image should...
A. toggle between browse and view mode
B. toggle fullscreen on and off

The two applications have not been designed to serve the same purpose: Digikam is geared toward handling digital photographs, while Gwenview is a more generic image viewer, which can be used a standalone application or embedded in Konqueror.
Gwenview browses the file system while Digikam is more "higher level" and categorizes images using a database. - Aug 22 2005

If you start Gwenview giving it an image as a parameter, it will look similar to your mockup, except for the menu bar and status bar. - Jun 21 2005

The base dir will become configurable at some point, I initialy made it visible so that you can easily browse your files by keyword. - May 24 2005

Using ioslave is planned, the current lexeo_find tool is more a proof of concept.

As for the way the keywords are stored, the main advantages are:
- Not limited to any particular file type
- Concurrent access are handled by the file system, so there is no need to lock some file. - May 23 2005

I had the same problem, but fixed it by running "make install" in the src and pics dirs.
I use /usr as a prefix (running "cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:path=/usr ."), maybe it's the reason why I get the icons. - May 31 2004

Looks like you've got linking problems. Maybe you tried to use a precompiled package which was not adapted to your machine? You should try to rebuild Gwenview. - Feb 05 2004

Maybe you did not use the right prefix? You must run configure like this:
./configure --prefix=/where/kde/is/installed

On Mandrake 9.2 you should use --prefix=/usr. You can also use the binary RPMs made by Angelo, they are available from the download page of the web site. - Feb 01 2004

Chat & Messenging by epoch 16 comments

Sure: I often find myself contacted while I'm working on some task involving lots of windows/virtual desktop switching (usually coding or playing with GIMP). In these situations, I tend to set my chat window always-on-top and visible-on-all-desktops but it often get in the way of one of my "work" window. Having the chat window docked would prevent that. - Jan 23 2004

It looks good! In fact, I've been thinking about this for a loooong time :-) I can't test it since I don't run KDE 3.2 for now, does it embed the conversations in the bar too? - Jan 23 2004

First of all, congratulations for such a great idea. My only suggestion would be to fill the empty chairs with busy hackers.

I know it will complexify the image so it might not be possible, but it would be nice because right now it looks a little bit as if all the conference attendees were at the coffee machine :-) - Jan 20 2004

Nice and fun. However I think the tiled Tuxes on the banner is a little too much. It would also be nice to make the track apparent. - Nov 08 2003

Logo2Icon Tutorial

Icon Sub-Sets by Markus 6 comments

Good tutorial !
A little hint nevertheless : in the first pages you talk about converting the format of the image to GIMP one, assuming you mean using an RGB image instead of an indexed one, you can achieve this faster using 'image/mode/RGB'

Another one, when removing the background of the image using the magic wand, use Ctrl+K (Erase) rather than Ctrl+X (Cut), this one won't overwrite the content of your clipboard. - May 13 2002
