Uhm Trolling? Look up that word before you use it.

I personally like the Windows cursor themes, I use aero-drop and now I will be using this.

Great work! - Dec 07 2012

I think that's a matter of opinion. :)

I prefer simple, my only qualm with this theme is that ya can't really mix it with anything that doesn't have orange in it. If you made a couple with diff colors or chose white for the buttons, it'd mix with more GTK themes. - Jun 25 2008

Could you add a screen shot showing the elements of the GDM (e.g face browser, username/password box, etc)? I'd like to see how that mixes in with the background. Background is pretty. :) - Jun 19 2008

What? The myriad of naked chicks with Ubuntu logos on them available on this site doesn't work for you?

There's so much Ubuntu logo-ed stuff on this site I almost fell out of my chair when a scanty-clad girl related wallpaper with no Ubuntu logo appeared.

Why is this not being hosted by art.gnome.org? If this is a Gnome sanctioned contest, I find that a little strange. - Apr 30 2008

Dude,

It's not fileplanet, so don't bitch. Or go use fileplanet for a couple downloads, and the rest will seem very nice and wait free. :)

As for the GDM...wahoo...pretty lady with no Ubuntu logo. Props for being different. - Apr 05 2008

First off, I would like you to qualify your authority to ask such a question on behalf of the Fedora project or Red Hat for that matter.

Second, Fedora is an open, community project. Did the author of Nodoka require "authorization" to post his work here? No...why? Community. The Fedora logo is not being used for profit, therefore no authorization from the project is req'd.

Please lose the attitude and misrepresentation of the project.

As for Apple, better get posting, there's over 1000 posted items here using Apple or Apple like content. - Jan 30 2008

Okies I love this! I just think your custom icons are just as nice as Tangos but better and custom, and I like that. :)

I love the semi-transparent drive icons, they're just neat. :)

Also, archive icons, cool idea adding the tape and upc.

gTango upgraded, just what I've been waiting for. :) - Jan 21 2008

Why were custom icons removed in this release (e.g. HD drive icons). In gTango 1.01, the icons were more custom, now many of them are just Tango. - Jan 17 2008
CrashBit (Fedora/Ubuntu)

Full Icon Themes by igancuhz 98 comments

I've been following the gTango/Crashbit for a while and I have some questions.

First off, difference? Is Crashbit to be the continuation of gTango or is this a new theme?

Secondly, feedback....Unless something failed in the install, this looks like Fedora blue (and choice other blue spins on default Gnome icons) with a couple of other additions. The screenshots and SVG sources gave me a completely different take.

IMO...gTango 1.01 remains the best, by far. The icon set is beautiful and has that Tangoy usability and attractiveness with out being boring.

I hope you found this constructive, I am just trying to be helpful. :) - Jan 17 2008
Gummy Metacity Theme

Metacity Themes by Yhouse 5 comments

What is the difference between the metacity theme installed with Clearlooks and your theme? From the preview I don't see any, I am just curious. - Dec 17 2007
To get these working in gnome I created theme file (index.theme) in the aero\ or aero-drop\ dir with the following content:

[Cursor Theme]
Name=aero (or aero-drop)

All my other mouse icon themes have an index.theme with content similar, perhaps we could get another X11 mouse theme author to comment.

Worked with Fedora 8, Fedora 7 is still a no go.

Nice work btw. :) - Dec 13 2007

I've noticed that there are many users on this site that see something Windows-ish and they freak out, like Windows is invading the site or something.

I applaud your efforts, Linux is meant to be open, skin how you'd like. I still configure my panel much like Windows because I like it that way.

So keep up the work and the idea of do what you want. :)

XP Login GDM

GDM Themes by finchair 23 comments

I think this comment is worthless and for me, makes more case for us to get some moderation on this site. The site is an artistic forum, if someone wants to make their Linux distro of choice look like Windows, more power to em' and they should be welcome to post just as much as Ubuntu fan boys do. Getting kinda tired of poor comments under the "hey! this is a Linux site!" crap.

<from below>

There is plenty of variation in this from the default XP welcome screen to make it unworthy of violation. M$ can't sue for supposed Linux patent violations let alone someone's take on the XP log on screen. - Aug 14 2007
