Just my humble opinion, but I like the old gray fox circling the earth firefox icon much better than the new orange fox. It seems very out of sync with the rest of the theme, and is to similiar in appearance (not color) to the amarok theme. Other than that I really love the theme! - Mar 14 2006

When I try to downlad, all I get is a blank screen and a note that I need to install a plugin. I have downloaded many other wallpapers here already with no such trouble. If you want people to see your work you need to fix this. I am only running knoppix temporarily and I am not interested in installing a plugin just to d/l one wallpaper. - Feb 14 2006

something like this is what i have been looking for! BUT!
its kinda ironic that the idea behind fitz is supposedly to be space-efficient, yet it uses gigantic titlebar text. i like fitz, but for that unfortunate detail. also the titlebar feels a little too big and cludgy. - Feb 11 2006

Hey this skin is really awesome. I am actually trying to have a unified plastik desktop on windows and most of the programs I use have a plastik theme available. I think it looks great. Can you please update this program for use with Thunderbird 1.5. - Jan 24 2006

So let me say it again: KDE will stay the default on Suse in future versions as novell has made clear about a 100 times now. - Jan 08 2006

Nice theme. I noticed that the title text in unfocused windows was centred, while in the focused window it was on the left. To fix this, change line 247 to read:

<title color="#604030" x="5" y="(height - title_height) / 2"/>

This left-orients unfocused window titles.

I think #2f2f2f is a bit better for the colour too, but that's me :) - Dec 09 2005

Redhat9 Cursor Slackware

Cursors by maarizwan 9 comments

I reuploaded the files, they were faulty. I think it would be better after all to just not link those drag-and-drop cursors at all as the green plus cursor is used when dragging a window by the title bar. Double use for it would be confusing. Those drag-and-drop cursors just don't exist in the blue curve theme.

So, I think you should remove all the drag-and-drop symlinks. Check the codes in my "link-cursors" shell script.

Sorry about the trouble and confusion. - May 11 2005
Redhat9 Cursor Slackware

Cursors by maarizwan 9 comments

You can see the copy cursor when you drag in nautilus (perhaps other apps as well) with the control key pressed. Move cursor when shift key pressed, link when shift+control pressed and ask when alt pressed. The forbidden cursor you'll see when drag-and-dropping somewhere inappropriate. Bluecurve theme doesn't come with suitable cursors for link and forbidden.

You seem to have other minor faults as well. The drag-and-drop "forbidden" cursor should be the one named "crossed_circle", but your crossed circle is not a crossed circle, it's a cross!

This makes me wonder how you constructed these themes, so I did it myself as clean as possible. I downloaded RPMs of the themes, and used a script to add the move and copy cursors and create correct links. I uploaded the cursor themes to http://koti.mbnet.fi/ots/linux/cursors. Check for comparison and check the "link-cursors" shell script. I might post the inversed cursors at this site later on. - May 11 2005

Other drag-and-drop cursor codes:
copy: 6407b0e94181790501fd1e167b474872
link: 640fb0e74195791501fd1ed57b41487f

I couldn't find a code for the "ask" cursor I mentioned.

If the selection is what's in your screenshot, I'd just use "left_ptr" for move and the current "move" for copy. - May 09 2005

It seems the move, copy, link and ask cursors are not right. When drag-and-dropping for example in nautilus with shift, control or alt keys pressed one should get different cursors.

Now I just get a green plus sign for move (the cursor named "move" in the screenshot). That plus sign always confuses me, because I would assosiate plus sign with copying rather than moving. Copy, link and ask cursors I don't get from this theme at all. - May 07 2005
Liquid Weather ++

Karamba & Superkaramba by Matti 1794 comments

Hi guys, anyone who could share his liquid_weather.rc file with me? I've done a clean install, and now the file is almost empty, the famous animstyle= line has gone completely, if I add it and fill in '0', it doesn't work... So now I'm desperately looking :)

This happened after a clean install, and also on my previous installation it didn't work. So it's not due to my SuSE 9.2. I've installed Superkaramba 0.36 as soon as the OS install was completed. - May 06 2005

GTK2 Themes by Remenic 250 comments

I appreciate your explaining the reason behind its implementation but perhaps the animation could be done in a more subtle way? For instance a horizontal gradient animation on the progressbar instead of the stripes?

Clearlooks

GTK2 Themes by Remenic 250 comments

Oops- I apologize for sounding so coarse. I wrote that in a playful sense but it did not come off that way.

I have nothing but the greatest respect for programmers who share their time and talent with the free software world so I would never want to come off sounding rude or unappreciative. The Clearlooks developers have contributed something *great* to the community and how they choose to use their time should be entirely up to them.

However, as a user who still does not have polished coding skills, all that I can contribute to your project would be bug reports or usability feedback. I have not found any bugs so I'm offering the latter: I think that Clearlooks has amazing potential but at the same time I cannot help being put off by the striped progress bars. - Mar 13 2005

Clearlooks

GTK2 Themes by Remenic 250 comments

Clearlooks v0.3 is the most polished and stunning GTK+ theme that I've ever seen. Kudos to the developers! However, I recently installed v0.4 and like the other posters I was very disappointed with some of the alterations. The striped progress bar looks very out of place and contradicts the otherwise clean appearance of the theme. I also find the stripe on an active tab distracting as well. The color on the stripe is loud and draws too much attention to itself--it's distracting.

I urge the developers to *please* consider reverting to the v0.3 look or at least offering this option when running ./configure

Thanks - Mar 09 2005
