Thanks very much. Yh I want to make the text transparent. But it seems to be more difficult than I first thought it would be. The project is on hold at the moment because of other distractions, but it will get done at some point.

sticking to 1.4 is a bit like sticking to XP. there doesn't seem to be any reason for it. It is legacy software. There was stiff competition for it. Not necessarily in functionality but in look and feel. There needed to be a change. I think Amarok 2.x has really raised the bar in terms of what is expected from an media application.
