Nice work. I generally like the theme, but I dislike that there are some things that are borderless when they shouldn't IMO, like menus, and that some widgets get squashed together. The widgets should either be joined, or there should be some space between them, I think. - Jul 23 2009

I just tried your config file, and I don't get the same result at all. It looks completely different from the screenshot.. - Jan 22 2009

I really hope this style gets more development, since I really like it! I would love to see a window decoration for it! - Sep 01 2008
QtCurve IS native afaik. It's just made too look identical for all toolkits. - Aug 27 2008

Sorry, I didn't know about gambas. I hope it will get supported good in newer KDE soon. - Aug 07 2008

It looks like a good app, but how come you made this for KDE3? I am on Ubuntu Intrepid and KDE3 is not even here as an option, since it's too old. Or was the KDE3.x requirement a typo? - Aug 07 2008

If I didn't tell you before, thanks for this great style, and thanks for being so open to suggestions! - Jul 21 2008

Gold contributor?? I am surprised as I didn't even do any coding, but I am honoured. :)

KTitleWidget, I will remember it. Thanks.

If I learnt how to code I would join the project right away. ;)

It seems buttonmode was on line 4529 in my file, but I found and applied it anyway. I don't know what you mean by click feedback. I did however see that the menu background follows the colour selected for View Background now. Maybe we could have the option to choose this colour seperately? Apart from that I like this mode. :)

Ohh, that button problem I didn't even think about until now. Well it looks better now actually, I am glad I could accidentally help you, hehe.

Ok, another request I have. It seems that seperators are not drawn with this style. Could we have the option of having it shown? - Jul 21 2008

One thing I love about this style, is a certain widget. I don't know what it's called though. I made a screenshot from where I am showing the widget here:

It is very nice, but maybe we can also choose which color it should have? Also, the behavior of scrollbars. Some people like to always see the arrows, some people don't, some people want one arrow at the top and one at the bottom, some people like 2 arrows at the bottom and one at the top, etc. so that is nice if we can choose. I would also like to be able to choose the color of selections in the menu. - Jul 20 2008

Ok, I just tested compiling with more roundness for buttons. It was nice. Though like I said, it would be nicer if you could choose it in the Style settings. Also, configuring roundness of other elements would be good. I will give more feedback soon :P - Jul 19 2008

Yeah, I read about that. I will take a closer look at it soon. But it would be better if we could choose in KDE's settings I think. - Jul 18 2008

It would be nice if we could have some configuration options. For example someone asked for more roundness. I also think it would be nice if we could have it. Though it doesn't need to be default, just that we have the ability to choose roundness level. And maybe other options too. - Jul 18 2008
Can you add a function to be able to select the size of the menu selection? Right now it covers the whole width, but I would like to have it smaller by a few pixels. Sorry if this has been asked before. - Jul 14 2008

Yes, it works! The problem will probably fix itself when KDE4 gets mainstream (= installed in /usr/bin), but it works for now. I think I noticed a bug though. The scrollbar in konsole looks weird. I am using KDE 4.1 Beta.

Everything else looks good so far. I will report if I find anything else. I am glad I can help with this! :) This is my little way of contributing since I can't code myself, hehe.

Just an identical GTK theme would be nice for consistency, hehe :D - Jun 20 2008

I just compiled and installed this theme. It looks quite nice, but I can't pick the window decorator in Systemsettings (KDE4), it's not available as an option. When compiling I didn't see any hint of anything missing, and I have that workspace package you mentioned. A part from that, very good work indeed! I am using it right now and will test it more. - Jun 20 2008
Afaik, this is not something like gtk-qt. It is as much a GTK style as it is Qt style I think (Correct me if I am wrong.), but it's focused for KDE users and that's where you choose settings (GNOME doesn't even let you pick options for widget styles, so it probably would need hacks if you wanted to change it in GNOME).

A new release! I will compile it right away! :D - Apr 24 2008

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by Apoclypse 12 comments

Thanks for this! I am using it now. I am always glad to give feedback to devs. :) What I would like to see first is the ability to change my settings on the fly. Now if i change the colors I need to log out and log in again for it to take effect. - Apr 22 2008
I understand :) Thanks again for your work on QtCurve! I am looking forward to your next release as always. - Apr 17 2008
I wonder how important KDE3 is though. I mean, when 4.1 arrives I am pretty sure there is no reason to use 3.5, and all major apps are soon ported over to KDE4. That is just my opinion though :) - Apr 16 2008
I have another request. Next to "Appearance", there is an option for changing the roundness of almost everything. I would like to be able to be more specific though. I would like to have round buttons, while having content boxes (what do you call them?) wich are square. I attached screenshots again.

Plasma Themes by jamboarder 62 comments

Great plasma theme! At first I started to dislike plasma a little because the default theme, and several other themes I saw, sticked out so much from the regular theme. So thanks for this great theme! I will have no problem with plasma now :D - Apr 12 2008
Actually, I can give you more examples where things are very close.

emesene (GTK):
Ktorrent (KDE4):

These examples are part of the menus, so I doubt it's KHTML/Gecko/Webkit's fault. - Mar 21 2008
Sorry, but are my suggestions simplu too stupid to answer, or did you just miss my posts twice? Not meant in a rude way, I was just wondering. - Mar 21 2008
Is it possible to have support for more options for window background? I know the Oxygen style for example draws a gradient in the window background. That would be pretty nice. Or if we could be able to select a background picture to be used or something. - Mar 20 2008
Actually, I didn't move the menu UP and left, but rather DOWN and left! Sorry, I couldn't edit my post. - Mar 02 2008
Sometimes buttons and other things are too close. Just by moving them apart by two pixels it looks much better. I put examples with Konqueror.

Also, would it be possible to alter how the menu from the menubar looks? I made a mockup of exactly how I would like it to be.

The changes I made in the mockup:

* The menu is moved up and left by a few pixels.

* The menu colors are altered according to the menubar color, instead of the window background color when a custom menubar color is selected.

* The menu selection color is different from the usual selection color. (My usual selection color is yellow/orange, while in the menu it's green).

* The menu selection is a squarish gradient, somewhere between the Ubuntu Human theme, and most Windows themes (msstyles) I've seen.

Thanks for all your work on this style! Even without these changes Qtcurve will still be on the top of my list of Styles to use. But I would really appreciate if you could do this. :D - Mar 02 2008
