I'm simply happy that you responded to my comment so quickly.

The way you made the buttons so easy to theme is one reason why I believe it suits Xfce's nature so well. The "Applications Menu" for xfce4-panel has the same level of ease; click here - select image - icon changed. Very system theme-agnostic; very cool.

The only feature I could think to add to the package would be to provide menu access (File, Edit, View, etc..) in a button. Rather, this is an option I think the Window Title's icon could provide. I've thought a bit about how it might look from a config gui perspective; something like a child option to the Window icon option (like it's grayed out when the icon is hidden)

I'm not sure if it would be better as a third, separate applet or if it could be fit in as an option to Window Title, but it just seems like it would fit well with the package. For me anyhow, I would achieve desktop perfection if I could just do that. :D (So I'm pretty close now!)

Basically I'm using Xfce + Compiz but I think the most important facet of how your applets tie in to what I'm doing is my use of a five-button mouse. It's a Logitech MX series so I have two thumb buttons, which I use for move and resize. It's so elegant to be able to grab anywhere without using the keyboard for Alt. ..and because it's a thumb button, you can almost get a feeling like you're physically handling the windows like the virtual sheets of paper they are. I can just sum it up to say that the average visitor has a strange combination of confusion and jealousy when they see how it all functions. Plus I operate a gajillion times faster than before.

I know you didn't ask but it seems relevant enough to provide a bit of demographics info while I have dev attention ;)

Suffice to say, I probably could have manacled together some trashy scripts to make it BARELY happen, but you have made it so super easy and it really, honestly did change the way I use my computer(s). I look forward to seeing the concept continue and hopefully gather more proponents. (Fitts Foundation! Wooo!)

So thanks a whole bunch. You are permanently ranked in my personal Linux Pantheon. .. and sorry for the long, gushing response. :P - Jul 06 2011

I am using this with XfApplet and though it works okay - it's a bit buggy. I really want to see this functionality added to xfce4-panel, without XfApplet.. but I'm a lousy programmer! We need a Window Applet fundraiser! - Jul 05 2011
