It is 65MB big, but it should be smaller if you'll remove the .icon-theme.cache file within the archive.

If you want, you can delete everything you don't need, and, surely, you can customize the change-type script.
But remember that everytime you'll download an updated version, all your customizations will be reset to default. - Mar 01 2009

You can customize every icon you want, but you must do it manually.
You have to right click the folder you want to change, and change the default icon to a customized one [look for it within the path ~/.icons/hydroxygen]. - Mar 01 2009

No secrets... the bottom panel is just drawn with the GIMP on the wallpaper.
I only added a bottom gnome panel of 24px with transparent background [to make the GIMP drawings visible] and drag&dropped the classical application launchers. - Dec 29 2008

I won't add the old openoffice icons.
I set up two choices for openoffice icons, they are enough.

I have seen the comix icon, it is not a problem to put it into the next update.

I confirm.
This is not related with the iconset.. try another one, and you'll see that ALL superuser launched apps have the default icons/fonts/themes.
You can try these commands:

sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root/.themes
sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root/.icons
sudo ln -s ~/.fonts /root/.fonts - Dec 08 2008
