As you mentioned performance I further investigated it and it turned out that the difference between Dust and New Wave is only ~ 1 sec (not 5 as you show) if we remove 1sec from the progressbar bug that stops its drawing at the beginning. It wasn't like that before so I will further investigate on this pb bug.

See results here:
http://img214.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gtkperf.png - Apr 07 2009
This testing program's results are not always correct and i don't use it as measure for the performance. The one test I do is that if the user feels the theme is snappy the it's all ok. If you compare the aurora engine and my theme their results are almost the same because they offer greater eye-candy and more detail than other themes.

Btw I run gtkperf and got 9.82 on my PC so you can see for yourself that this is relative test program. - Apr 06 2009
For a grey version have a look at my favourites. There is one callled NewWave-GreyMOD. It should do the job. - Apr 06 2009
Thank you, friend!

Coming soon is version 0.8.0 that will include a FF theme fixing this and adding much more polish. It will be available in a week or so. - Mar 27 2009
Progressbar animation is no possible now but in 0.8 the colors would be richer and it will have some more depth. - Mar 23 2009
Thank you. If you have further questions please the next time ask them in the help tab of this page.

1. The gtkrc file is of no use to you. Go to the metacity-1 folder and open metacity-theme-1.xml. There you should edit the styles for all types of windows. Here's an example:
<distance name="left_width" value="1"/>
<distance name="right_width" value="1"/>

Just replace the value with 2 or more pixels and you are done.

2. This is not a problem with the theme but with evolution. I probably can fix this with some hacks but this is not the good way. I prefer Evolution devs to fix this rather than me hiding it with "make up". - Mar 09 2009
I'm glad to hear that :) - Feb 24 2009
Thanks

If you clik the link to the homepage you will find the svg sources of the theme and modifying them could result in other colors. One other guy has started work on this so you may consider contacting him and helping him out (for his name look up the comment of the theme - should be one or two pages back. It was called Valeryan24 or playa1313 I think). - Feb 24 2009
Thank you!

I don't have the time to make a blue version but I talked wit a guy that said he is doing such and will release it. But I don't know when unfortunately.

I'm workin on New Wave 0.8.0 so you should expect it some time in the future (I'm still testing it and adding new stuff). - Feb 23 2009
Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply but I was away from home. What is this list you are talking about? Is it the one that you could switch running applications? - Feb 15 2009
I'm thinking to make a "facelift" of the scrollbars for 0.8 so they will be a bit better than now I hope.

About the color I don't really know what should I change (suggestions?). Only good change is the change of iconset that will by very much modify the whole experience with the theme. I have a custom one in the LaunchPad site and I'm considering to use Breath when it's full enough. - Feb 07 2009
The theme New Marmol has menubars with light background and black text. The situation in New Wave is exactly the opposite. But as I said I will find a way to fix this. Meanwhile you could report a bug in LaunchPad and track the progress there (Check the support section of the description text). Because if I find a solution earlier I may post it there but not here. In gnome-look.org I post only complete and tested products.

- Feb 04 2009
I'm glad you like it.

You are talking about the menus not being shown with the correct text color? If so I will make everything possible to include a fix in the next major version (0.8). - Feb 02 2009
Yes you are clear now.

1) The sources are svg files from whitch you should extract png's with appropriate color. If you achieve good results you could post the theme to the *-look.org sites.

2) The window borders you are trying to use are from ver 0.6.x and New Wave in 0.7.x has the same metacity in all types of themes (dark, light menus). However I will try to make a version of the old ones that fits 0.7.x .

3) That is probaly an issue of the pixmap engine I'm using. There is almost 90% chance not to find a solution but I will check this out. Still if you report a bug at LP I will be better able to coordinate this problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report these issues.
- Jan 31 2009
1) It is very hard to change the color scheme of the theme to blue but it is not impossible. You could modify the sources (.svg files) and then reconstruct the whole theme as blue one. In the repositories here you could find the soureces:
https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-new-wave/anton/devel

2) Do you mean the metacity with the key shape?

3) I don't know what exactly are you talking about. Probably report a bug here and attach screenshots:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/anton

As a matter of fact you can report all your issues as bugs in LaunchPad. That is the way I prefer people to tell me about issues with the theme .

Thanks for the feedback! - Jan 31 2009
Unfortunately OpenBox theme could not be made to match New Wave because the line under the title bar could not be removed in using the themerc file. If you know a way to do it please send me a message. - Jan 28 2009
Sorry to say that man but how often you go and use your scrollbars by pointing them with the mouse? We have scroll wheels invented. Thats why I made them not to be striking and taking your attention from the contents of the window. I admit that they don't look perfect but that is not my fault but a problem with gnome themeing.

You are clearly a dust fan, right? I can argue about the perfection of dust but I will say no more words. - Jan 26 2009
Thank you :)

Yes definitely a firefox theme would be good for the version with light menus. I'm not very familiar with the process of creation though so it might take a while until I release a firefox skin. Anyway there are some more aspects of the theme that could be improved so we may even see version 0.8 ;) - Jan 26 2009
Thanks for your appreciation and support! - Jan 18 2009
Thank you :)

1) But they aren't that small, are they? This is the first time I think of this being an issue to someone.

2) That is known to be a problem of all themes that use images as backgrounds in panels. It is possible to make a dozen of images but there is no user-friendly way to change them. So if you care you can stretch the image for titlebar (in Images/MenuMenubar/) in order to fit your panel size. - Jan 14 2009
1) Use the theme with dark menus

2) Open nautilus and press Ctrl+L. Type '~/.themes/' and press enter. Delete the folder New Wave. Then install in the usual manner.

You could have both themes installed - with dark and light menus. - Jan 07 2009
1) It is no longer appropriate as the titlebar is not behind - has no dropped shadow but a gradient.

2) Change the file in the folder: ~/.themes/New Wave/gtk-2.0/Images/Tree/ - Jan 07 2009
I will think about this but before I do anything else I have to finish the uspash I have started work on. If there are news I will send you PM. - Dec 25 2008
Thanks man!

In the message I have not mentioned GRUB so probably this will suffice till I make custom one: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GRUB+Rays?content=77266 - Dec 24 2008
You should remove the space between the two words: 'New Wave' -> 'NewWave'. That should work.

If it doesn't remove the copy from /usr/share/themes/ and istall it in ~/.themes/
Then do the following in termina window:
sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root
and:
sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root - Dec 23 2008
So the theme is installed? Did you try to restart your computer or log out and then in? - Dec 23 2008
Thank you and everybody else that has spent a minute to write a comment! - Dec 23 2008
Yes - white is the correct color. I updated the theme and you can now use dark menus. Just install the theme labeled new-wave070-darkmenus.tar.gz

- Dec 23 2008
That is really difficult to do as the theme is based on already drawn images. If somebody wants to change the sources I will give them to him. - Dec 23 2008
If you are using compiz you can install emerald. There is theme with round buttons for emerald that is pretty good. As far as the metacity - I haven't thought that somebody may need it but I will upload a updated version to gnome-look soon. - Dec 23 2008
Can you please send me more info about your OS and more detailed description of how you first installed the theme. Can you report the bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/anton - Dec 23 2008

A update is coming soon! Expect better foucus navigation as well as new top of the windows.

About the outer focus - I will think about it but probably will not change it. - Nov 26 2008
Това не може да бъде. Те трябва да са с тъмен фон и сив текст. Поне при мен изглеждат така. Ако може ще докладваш ли за този проблем в

Thnaks for the advice. I will fix it if I have time because I'm very busy these days. - Oct 21 2008
Thanks.

The "jumping" of the checkboxes is intentional. It was used on the option buttons but the effect was not good so I removed it. - Oct 21 2008
