KDE 3.x Window Decorations by dralgebra 541 comments

Just an addition to my comment, I know that there's an OpenGL edition, that supports few very good looking "variations" of transparency, but it doesn't work so good, when you use Kompmgr... - May 26 2005

It'd be really cool if this win deco could make use of the Composite extension to support real transparency ;-) But on the oher side it could also be dangerous, 'cause it could blow somebodys' eyeballs out ;-)

Great work!

I think Your wallpaper is a little too XP like, these four guys colours (representing Linux users) are too XP, could You make them more Crystalized ;-)? And change their colours a little, current colours remind me WinXP logo ;-). - Apr 09 2003

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by epic 13 comments

I've tried to use rewrutejpeg script, I've tried switch themes, I've tried: mkinitrd --splash auto, --splash 1024x768, etc.
It doesn't wanna work!!! It creates 73kB initrd.img and that's all - Jul 10 2002

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by epic 13 comments

I can't set this bootsplash, I use Mandrake Linux 8.2, I've placed this in /usr/share/bootsplash/themes/Mandrake, then I've renamed it to bootsplash-1024x768.jpg ( I've overwrited that original one ).
Later in konsole as root, I've typed: mkinitrd --splash auto /boot/initrd-2.4.18-6mdk.img 2.4.18-6mdk[ENTER], img file has been created successfully, so I've typed lilo and now I have black screen instead o fthat cool splash...

What is wrong I had few others splashes before and everything was OK, maybe I've forgot about something? - Jul 06 2002

Hi!

I gave a little idea, have You ever seen cursor shadow avaible for nVIDIA GeForce graphics cards users? Maybe it is possible to do something like that using hardware acceleration of GeForce for menus and windows? - Jul 03 2002

Right click on Your current taskbar, then select "Remove".
Now again right click on the kicker and select "Add"->Extension->External Taskbar, now move it to the top of Your screen and here You are! ;-) - Jun 30 2002
