What shapes do you miss?

If I could be of any help feel free to contact me :) - Dec 27 2007
I haven't tested the theme but it looks a bit too saturated on the screenshots. No offense intended, I'll have to check it first :)

And thanks for using my cursors... Interesting someone actually uses them :) (they don't fit into my current theme, so I neither use them right now.) - Dec 26 2007

About the transparent kicker thing, I am working on a patch to make it really transparent and allow an overlay image with alpha channel in it at the same time.

It will be included in KDEmod as it stabilizes and posted on kde-look too.

So no further "hack" modifying the kicker background by using your background image.

Just for your information :)

And... Kirocker rocks! Keep it up! - Nov 19 2007

Add dcop support and some kind of event handling or at least knotify integration and it will be perfect... No, just let me add one thing... Zeroconf integration would be great too, so you could fill the dropdown box with possible participants automatically.

Are there any plans to add webcam video? If you would plan that I would be the happiest person ever :)

I don't know how complicated it would be to port this to windows but it's worth a look. This could get an alternative to skype if done right (of course that would be a longer journey then :) )

I'll look into the code and check what has to be done to get it to compile on windows, I'll contact you if I know more ;) - Nov 19 2007

How did you install it? Through the kcontrol module or manually? Because kcontrol has a nasty bug with links in tar files. - Oct 19 2007
;) I got a 3200x1200 Dualhead Setup and miss my cursors all the time therefore the 64x64 Version *g* - Dec 25 2005
Thank you very much. - Dec 17 2005
What was the problem with gcursor? Was it the fault of this package?

I ask because my KDE 3.5 has some problems with links in cursor archives. If you install via kcontrol it unpacks the package but doesn't create the links correctly.

The "ball" should apparently visualize a world globe... perhaps i should improve that. Thanks for your comment. - Dec 15 2005
No problem... but: can you tell me why you need such small cursors, i think i wouldn't find them on my desktop ;) - Dec 15 2005

It says "cvisualActivate" in the error message, that should have been "visualActivate".

That's weird... I'll check the patch today evening if I'm home again. - May 21 2007
Why did you use svn?
and scroll down.

And yes, it's possible, I maintain part of the KDEmod community project (64Bit Version is my work) of Archlinux and had no problems so far - Apr 29 2007
Just open kcontrol then go to Devices->Mouse->Optical Feedback and untick the checkbox - Apr 29 2007
No, thats not the best option. I think I'll make it the KDE way: Let the user configure it :)

Somewhere below a KControl patch was suggested. If that person is so kind to send me his patch then I'll include it and extend it for setting the animation speed. - Mar 12 2007
Cool thing...

If you wouldn't mind I would include it into the patch. So all is together where it belongs :) - Mar 12 2007
Your Problem Elv is not connected to my patch but to the libart_lgpl package.

The programmer of libart made a mistake and it'll not build currently.

Either up- or downgrade libart, that should fix the issue (if you don't want to do that search the kde mailing lists for a patch. There is one but I don't know the URL though) - Mar 08 2007
Ok I'll do that. That was because it's likely that the speed of the effect is connected to cpu/graphics speed a little bit. And as I have a very fast cpu and enjoy the effect, so it may be a little slow to others...

I think I'll make that configurable in future. - Mar 08 2007
Currently you can only turn it on or off completely by setting VisualActivate in ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals to one or zero.

Of course you may take the splitted patch and not apply the kicker patches :) - Mar 08 2007
That's right... but I got informed that the animation is now too slow... can you verify that?

Because then I'll do another update soon. - Mar 07 2007
Just in case you monitor this...

UPDATE :) - Mar 06 2007
There is a delay in it. But it may be it's too short or optimized out somehow... I'll check that and fix it for the next update (expect it to be soon.) - Mar 01 2007
For which distro?!? There are many incompatible ones based on RPM.

As I was informed KUbuntu Feisty Fawn has already adapted this patch. So I'm waiting for the SuSE guys to catch up now *g*.

I have no RPM based Distro installed right now so I can not help you with packages currently. Sorry. - Feb 26 2007
Do you use a compositing manager?
That could be the cause...

I am currently working on that issue as stated in the Changelog. - Feb 20 2007
I knew that this question will pop up.

I have to diappoint you, it's a wild mix of different Themes. Some Icons from "Realistik", "Human", "Crystal Clear", "Vista Inspirate", Nuvoext", "OSX" and "Tango"

I think a quite similar look you get with installing "KDE Crystal Diamond 2.5 - Classical Mod" but don't ask me where to find it. - Feb 13 2007
Splitted patch is now online, with minor bugfix.

But it's on my home server (only DSL), so download may be a bit slow. - Feb 12 2007
Splitted patch is now online, with minor bugfix and qapplication.h included.

Still doesn't correctly display all animations with composite manager enabled. I'll try to fix this tomorrow evening. - Feb 12 2007
See last entry in the changelog of the entry :) - Feb 12 2007
Gee, I know what you mean ;) - Feb 12 2007
That depends how this will be implemented in KDE 4, in KDE 3 it's just the image you can see on screen but scaled.

If icons are no more pixmaps but vector objects it will be possible to recalculate the pixmap for each zooming step, but i doubt that's worth it because it eats CPU time. - Feb 10 2007
No problem with the next release (will follow soon, because I found another bug -.-) i will include those splitted patches. - Feb 10 2007
kwin dropshadow patch for kde 3.5.7

That's the thing why you'll need real composite to do that.

These shadows work by creating an extra window that contains a screenshot over which the shadow is drawn. But you can't do screenshots of things that are hidden normally. Here comes composite to work, with it you can get the contents of the hidden parts and do a "screenshot" of exactly that to render shadows.

This one is thought for computers where composite won't work because of slowness or crappy drivers. So if you have a decent PC use the kcompmgr shadows that are already included with kde. - Jun 04 2007

The KCM config module was really crapped!
I finally fixed it, if you want to use the thing really just get the patch here:

You don't have to be root now (that was hillarious because it didn't work even as root) and that dang thing doesn't crash anymore. Theme installing works also.

And this one if you're on the current KDE:

(That one worked quite good :) ) - Jun 01 2007

Well i traced it down a little bit further.

Seems to be a Makefile issue. doesn't generate a emoticonseditdialog.lo and it doesn't compile emoticonseditdialog.cpp, so the symbol is missing afterwards while linking.

But I don't know how to fix it as I am no automake/libtool professional. - May 26 2007

Well... I suppose it's my error with the patch, but... yes it compiles but it doesn't run, can't find "KShadowEngine" symbol...

I will look into this in the evening, so if it doesn't compile for anyone just be patient :) - Feb 15 2007
See a patch for this:

It's because of some KDE and QT Versions are compiled with hidden visibility.

The patch removes just one linker flag: -Wl,--no-undefined that breaks the build here. (Hidden Visibility is undefined for gcc in this case, because it's not in the source but in a shared lib) - Feb 14 2007
That's absolutely correct for archlinux, as it uses Xorg 7 already and that installs under /usr/lib like all other apps. - Feb 14 2007

I check back again when you've included some other sizes.

I compiled and installed it on my debian Sid here. Tested with KDE versions 3.3.2 (debian sarge) and 3.4.2 (new in sid), now i compiled the 3.5 alpha and everywhere the same bug: Before the images fade in there is an ugly black square around it, i think that was not the intention of the standard theme, was it? It is not faded from background color to picture, but from black. What's wrong? Am i missing something? BTW: I am using the AMD64 Version of Debian, I tested both the 0.4.1 and 0.4.2 versions and even other themes like "circular tux". - Aug 29 2005

Did you use some kind of vector (svg) image for your wallpaper ?

Where did you get it from ?

(i used a 128x128 png upsampled to 200x200, so it's a bit unsharp)

it would give the splash a sharper look if i could get the vector thingie...

I will post a more detailed installation manual later today (currently at work, no linux here ;)
