No estoy usando emerald ;)

No... no soy diseñador. Pero me interesa hacer un aporte y, desde donde puedo, creo que lo hago. Si lo podés hacer mejor, hacelo, sino limitate a descargar, a probar lo que otros hacen y a agradecer. - Sep 04 2010

Hi dude, very good idea. Is there any possibility that you make a .deb file? ...It will really simplify the installation of your script in all machines that I know XD
Thanks again, and i hope that you can get this idea in the next update!

Hi again. I tested it again installing from source and it worked ok. Although after deleting the program I downloaded the .deb file, installed it, and found out that interface looks incomplete. Also both brighter and darker buttons doesnt work properly (only chages the color of the first box named "top"). When I appy the iconset generated it puts gnome iconset (the ugly one)... so, It seems not working now. I attach an splash.

YEAAAHHHH!!! zanx a lot!!! :D

that was fast dude!!! jajaja

I throw another idea ... It will be great if the script gets automatically the "base" icontheme if it is not installed in our system... for example, in a fresh install of your program I have the possibility to tuneup meliae theme, but the user might have not installed that icontheme... Instead of install and then modify it, the script just modify something that eventually wont work, because meliae is not installed in the system: the script must install it or eventually tell the user that have to do so... (by refering somewhere...)

Thanks again, great-super-excelent job.

Hi man. Good work, I really like it.
A detail: I don't know if it's only happens to me, but I identified that OpenOffice (3.2) behave a little messy with this theme. Particularly, it puts "bold" style font into the "boxes" and menus (like font name, font size and menu bar, among others).

I have to say that this minimalism cautivated me, perhaps more than elementary :P

I hope that you can solve this issue that I presented.

Keep going! Excelent Job!!! - Jun 25 2010

I think that you should do some software upgrade. First of all, I use VLC as my primary video player, and showed no problem neither with awn nor with compiz. Running a lucid.

Second, if you do not want to use compiz, you can enable the compisiting feature of metacity, and with that you will be ready to use a full featured awn. To enable search metacity in gconf-editor.

I hope this helped you.

Hy there, thanks for your comments.

The bottom panel is.... AWN!

yeah.

I'm running the latest version, with an experimental style called "lucido". I will write an entry soon whit a howto. The new style is very stable by the way.

Basically, check this.
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/05/new-experimental-awn-build-is-beautiful.html

...Check my comment on omg if you get broken applets after installing.

The most incredible and fantastic thing is that one can full customize the colors and effects under this new awn style.

Chears!

Very good man! Cool work.

Love it in 3d mode.

Suggestions:

-Change the extension name into a .tar so you can install directly (i had to extract and compress it again in order to install it from GUI...)

-May be add more compatibility in 2d mode... or may be add another version in 2d. It's really good in 3d.

- add Panel mode support will be great...

Thanks a lot for your work. I will be following this work. Nice! - May 15 2010

.emerald is a compressed file. so it might be compatible with others formats (like tar.gz, .gz, etc)

what is that thing that confused you? the technical explanation about the compressed format and the renaming or how to do the renaming?

...anyway, it works, just rename it.

Good work man! awsome. Works fantastic. Congrats.

My suggestion:
The issue that I fount was that the script "moves" the extracted folder from ~/ to ~/.icons. So When I wanted to add another color scheme I ǘe been obligated to extract from tar.gz again.

I was wandering if it could be possible to add a first command that decompress from the tar.gz, so you do not have to do it every time that you want to install a new color scheme.

Again, grat work.

Keep in that way,

Hi, sorry but im in a rush: i'll do it very quikly. I really do not know where specifically is. I supose that it is in the same location than I wrote before, because it is a 24x24 icon. might in the apps folder (?).
Anyway, I'm currently making a new version with some humanity icons updated and some bugs killed.
I hope to finish it by the end of the week.

(also you can try to look for the ubuntu menu icon name, since you downloaded it with a appropiate name -"start_here" or something maybe-, in the icon theme folder ~/.icons/Footwork Humanized 0,11/ or some place like that)

There is a few ways to install it. For instance, you can copy them into ~/.icons/humanity/24x24/apps
or
~/.icons/humanity/apps/24x24
(dont rememeber now)

You can also test "Footwork Humanityzed" that I just uploaded. That theme has all humanity panel updated, plus some folders in bluerrish style. - Nov 22 2009
