Crystal GT

Full Icon Themes by everaldo 385 comments

For the last two versions of the Crystal icon theme, the only icon on my taskbar which did not have a Crystal version was Kate. Seeming as Kate is one of the integral applications in KDE right now, should it not have it's own Crystal version icon?

Thanks for reading and considering. :) - Sep 25 2002
First of all, the font dialog you propose is great. It's clean, organized, compact and simple. For 85% of end users this is the dialog to use.

Secondly, I've had a long standing idea about how to do fonts in KDE, just never really finalized anything. I think the user should be able to configure whether or not they want to see Type1 fonts in their display, Xft fonts in their display, or any other denomination. It'd be nice to say "I want all my font dialogs to only show me my anti-aliased Xft rendered fonts". Having to scroll through all of the fonts that aren't Xft rendered to find the ones that are is a pain in the butt.

Lastly, it would be nice to see the font dialog have a toggle (based on the previous statement) somewhere, perhaps in another tab, which swtiches between Type1, Xft, Abisource, etc. And the default state would be set in Preferences -> Look And Feel -> Fonts

So ya. :) - Aug 18 2002
My request: Qnix for kde 3

Various Stuff by maxxin 6 comments

Qinx was just released here on kde-look.org, and it's actually nicer (in my opinion) than the original window decoration/style for KDE 2.x. You may want to scour the site for a theme/style called Qinx. - Jul 06 2002

GTK1 Themes by miguelicaza 60 comments

What I find amusing about GNOME users is they think we're all going to use GNOME because it looks good. Sure, it's a great looking desktop, but it lacks a few things like, oh, usability, native apps, lack of useless overhead. The aim of this site was to make a K Desktop pleasing, which it does. KDE looks much better than GNOME ever will in my opinion. It's clean, readable, the interface isn't cluttered, and I like that. GNOME with Nautilus is slow, difficult to use, and unless I just want to manage files and edit Abiword docs, GNOME isn't my thing. - Feb 12 2002

I'm pretty sure the KDE2.2 series allows you to set the percentage width of the panel, or it maybe just 2.2.2, which I'm running. Go to the panel preferences, you should see functionality group called Panel Size as soon as the prefs editor loads. - Jan 31 2002

It's the Quick Launcher applet. It holds a lot of icons I use very regularily, and out of pure laziness I haven't added the normal buttons on my panel to it. ;) - Jan 31 2002

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by detsaot 22 comments

The software looks great, did you try to submit it to the KDE project itself? I think it's much better than the current KSplash. :) - Oct 18 2001
