Looks great! Gimp and Firefox are necessity under Linux. It would be nice though to have a theme like gtk-qt for kde4, so no matter what your kde style, it would appear in gtk programs. - May 15 2009

Yeah, the wallpaper does look rather ugly; but the GTK theme and icons look great! If you want you can package some of my wallpapers with the theme.

No, I meant make the edges curved, like on my avatar, the top right corner is straight and the top left corner is round. So make the edges of the flame rounded instead of straight. - Jun 25 2008

Aesthetics, sorry for the misspelling. For the arrows I was thinking to have them represent what they do instead of the current state of the category. So if you click a button pointed down, the category will expand, if you click a button pointed up, the category will colapse - Jun 02 2008

That was not in reference to the mockup. That was a poor attempt to show what the dialog would look like if a user got rated work rated below 40%. (I did not have a mockup finished for that yet). So the idea is that if a user rates below 40% on a work, that is what the user will see. - Apr 29 2008
Do yourself a favor and go use windows 95 if you want flat buttons. Blue has always been the color of KDE. What else could be done but blue? (besides monochrome). Green is Suse, orange/brown is Ubuntu, purple is Gentoo, and red is already used for KDE apps, so all that is really left is blue. This is supposed to be an update for KDE-look to bring it closer to the Oxygen style released in KDE4. For anyone who wants to keep the world in the dark ages of KDE2, this is not the site for you, move on. - Apr 29 2008
As I said, this is incomplete. The logo in the top left corner is just a place holder, I (or someone else) will design a new logo, but until then, this just shows you where it will be located and gives an idea of how it might look. I did not have time to put in the comments section, but it will be fairly similar to the current setup. I have been really busy lately, so I haven't had much time to work on the theme. The icons are Snowish by Saki (hands down one of the best icon artist ever) and the color scheme is a slightly altered oxygen scheme. So make it whatever you want for now. The font is Dungeon. - Apr 14 2008

I only mentioned Kore because I was inspired by it to make a domino config, Not because I was trying to clone it in any way shape or form. You are right, emerald is better, but I could not use emerald at the time this was made because I did not have a good enough graphics card. Now I have a Geforce 8600 GTS! So you may see some emerald themes in the future. - Jun 20 2008

I agree entirely, but I think this theme is meant more to be a helpful tool than eye candy. Some people need *nix to look like widnows sometimes. If you are running linux off of your usb drive at a library and don't want to look suspicious, this really comes in handy. - May 09 2008

I am seeing these folder icons everywhere, but on the oxygen website it shows a much cleaner, sharper, glossy, more defined, folder icon. Just wondering if those icons were scrapped in favor of these, cause I really like the ones in the preview on the oxygen project site. - Apr 29 2008

Unfortunately there is no way. KBFX really isn't a well written piece of software. In order to make it look like it does I had to create the illusion of the menu being inside the rest of the theme. So all the graphics are made specifically for this layout. Sorry, not much I can do. - Apr 22 2008

I took this off of the hosting site because yet again I am working on another update to NuoveXT2. I will be making an alternative dark style for those who liked the original NuoveXT2. So for now you can download the entire NuoveXT2 suit, which contains the splash screen; or you can wait another till next week when I will have all the updates complete to NuoveXT2. - Apr 16 2008

You are modding an outdated version of the kollide theme. The one by EDWARDOS is a little bit out of date, I suggest you go and download the updated original, I have fixed some of the masking in the KBFX menu, along with a few other improvements. To make this look more BSD you could use the color tools in GIMP to make the button red, just desaturated it, brighten it, and use the colorize tool. Remember, give credit were credit is due :).

I remember this from windows blinds. Nice job porting.

As for not finishing your themes... I believe this is a common case of DTADD (Developer Theme Attention Deficit Disorder; :P )all great artist suffer from this rare disorder.(look at my Kubista theme) - Apr 11 2008

Ok, just change the file name from .tar.gz to .ta.gz and extract it. now the panel bg and the color scheme should be in there, just apply these manually. In order for the menu button to actually work you must have KBFX installed and apply the kbfx theme included in the download. - Apr 07 2008
I have not used Mandriva in a long time. Try downloading and using some other kthememanager themes and see if they work, if not then it is probably an issue with the system. If the others install but NuoveXT2 still doesn't work, change the .kth file change the extension to either .zip or .tar.gz (I can't remember which). Then you can take the panel bg, wallpaper, and color scheme and apply those manually. - Apr 03 2008

I like everything in the theme but the buttons, they remind me too much of the old ugly phase theme for kde3. If you could offer an option for rounded buttons and for flipped gradient (so the button looks like it is raised instead of sunken) that would be excellent.
