How about implementing an option to drop a depth level of information as soon as the required memory gets bigger than a specified value? - Jul 26 2004

great program, but it seems like the memory usage is proportional to the amount of files scanned, even though in the end the same amount of information is displayed. This makes it impossible for me to use it on a whole linux partition, when I want to work on the same machine. - Jul 08 2004

You currently can only get the "posts" view (as opposed to the "thread" view, which is usually used), because the other data is transmitted with the POST (as opposed to the GET) method in HTTP. Use something like this:\{@} - Jun 25 2004
KWin drop shadow patches

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by Deciare 134 comments

I applied the patch to kde 3.2.2-r1 in gentoo.
A clean way to do that is splitting up the emerge process with ebuild:

> ebuild /usr/portage/.../bla.ebuild unpack
> ebuild bla.ebuild compile install qmerge
> ebuild bla.ebuild clean (if you don't want to keep the source for further patches)

I see the shadows, but ..
- only when the window borders are not moving.
- Every time a shadow changes, there is a gap of about 300ms, where nothing is displayed. This adds up to an annoying flickering effect.
- When the display below the shadow changes (for example resizing icons), the shadow stays the same, meaning that you cannot see what's below it.

I hope those are not unsolvable problems [in X], because when it works, it looks absolutely amazing! - Jun 18 2004

Interesting theme.
At first it didn't work for me, then I noticed installed it to home-directories and I had ran it as root. - Jun 18 2004

I'm using KDE 3.2.2 and Gentoo. The compilation fails with the following error message:
