In spite of some things I don't like, I know they are contributing in some ways to the community.

What scares me about mono is this letter:

Kde/gnome are GPL (free software licences)

Mono relies on .NET(.net is from Microsoft, one day they could claim to own all the code writen with mono)

DotGNU (is free software GPL,LGPL)

Correct me if I'm wrong. - Oct 30 2007

It was my favourite distribution till the MS-Novel deal happen. Before that they worked for the community; now they work against community.

Look at the facts! FSF is working on GNASH and DOTGNU; whilst they work on Moonlight and Mono (Remember Mono works upon .NET). What about the M$ - Novel deal; clearly they are working with M$ against community. Ahh what about Novel position about OOXML? mmmmhhh Maybe Novel was bought by M$. Now I use Debian. - Sep 06 2007

[SOLVED] Atention Debian Etch users!

1- If you have this problem, it means you already have qdvdauthor installed; then you have to follow this steps to solve the problem:

*from konsole logg as root; then apt-get remove ffmpeg qdvdauthor.
*then from /usr/share delete qdvdauthor.
*then from
download the package ffmpeg and install it from the .deb.(do not install it from konsole or it won't work!).
*After you got installed ffmpeg form the .deb package; go to konsole and install dvdauthor (apt-get install dvdauthor).

It should work but only if you followed this steps.

2- If you don't have dvdauthor installed in your system; the first thing you have to do is download the package ffmpeg form the address above. And after that install dvdauthor. Other wise you will have problems with ffmpeg.

Hi everyone; I have a problem with Qdvdauthor, Mandvd; it seems to be a generalized problem with Debian. I got the latest version of Qdvdauthor, I got ffmpeg, lame, .... I don't know how to fix it. Do other Linux distributions have the same problem?

Thanks in advance!

This is what my log file shows.
